  1. A little off topic but I'm seeking knowledge. Also I have a 450x. I have a Series Honda which is a 250 4 stroke Honda in a CR 85 frame. I am looking for a wider softer seat. Seat Concepts wont do it. Guts doesn't do custom. Fisher will but I hate shipping my seat off to Idaho. From the back the seat shape is like a trapezoid. I thought maybe the foam could be brought straight up the sides like a rectangle. That would give me more cross section. I have shaved seat but I can feel the frame riding sitting down which almost all my riding is now, due to age. Suggestions?

  3. I know this isn't the proper forum but I thought I'd ask anyway. I have an 86 CR85 with a 250 4 stroke motor. The rear shock clicker is located directly in the middle of the swing arm and can't be reached with a screwdriver from top or bottom. I tried compressing the rear, doesn't help. Unweighting doesn't either. What almost works is a metal paint can opener reaching from underneath. Is there any kind of slim tool that would turn a screw at a right angle kinda like a tiny periscope. It would look kinda like a hammer. Adjust at bottom and turn screw where hammer face would be.
  4. I have a Series Honda which is an 06 CR 85 with a 250 4stroke Honda in it. I need more padding and was hoping to find a SoCal person. Seat Concepts don't do one off's and its a CR 85 seat.
  5. . I might have asked the wrong question. I looked again at Seat Concepts and see they only make a seat cover for the R. The comfort seat is for the 150F. So again: Would it fit or could it be made to fit.
  6. Here is why? Seat Concepts makes a seat for the 150 but not the 85. I was told back in the day that the 150's were based on the CRn85 frame, so I thinking maybe the seats would swap. I emailed Seat Concepts a couple days ago but haven't gotten an answer so I'm going to plan B. My CR has the 250F engine in it.
  7. Riding out at Pinnacles I put hole in my left side crankcase (sitting on bike) about the size of a grain of rice. How to fix. Whats ironic is that I had an aftermarket skid plate sitting in my shed.
  8. The screw on my CR 85 is behind the rear swing arm. Any off the shelf tools to adjust it, like a right angle screw driver?
  9. My lithium ran out of juice for unknown reasons. I jump started off another bike and ran for awhile and put some juice back in the battery. Now I'm nervous not knowing how much juice is in the battery. I have been told you can't load test them. How can I tell how much life is left in the battery. Also can I swap out a 14amp battery for my 7amp?
  10. I took it to race tech. They seemed a little pricy so I took it to TBT Racing. I haven't ridden it extensively because I am not sure if my battery is shot. See next post.
  11. I have a Junior X which is a CRF 250 spooned into a CR 85 frame. Stillwell in AZ set up the suspension for full MX. Way too harsh on the hard rock roads with chop I ride here. I only ride 15 to 20 mph with safe turns. I just need something softer. DOB 8/17/46. Who can I go to near Pomona I can trust/and/or take the bike back to if it doesn't work? Stillwell says send me everything and we will fix you up. And if they don't? Anything close to Pomona. I'm not looking for the absolute best and not looking to spend big bucks. I just need something more forgiving. My quick guess is softer springs. Suggestions. Also why is revalving such a hot topic? The factory always gets it wrong?
  12. Thanks to Chuck and Jon. The chain can't be pulled much off the rear sproket. I felt the teeth and they don't seemed worn or chipped at all, so maybe it isn't worn. Grabbing the chain in the middle I can move it side by side about 3/4". Is this normal. My gut feeling is that the mechanic I had look at it was trying to build repair hours. Besides saying the chain needed replacing he claimed all the wiring on Series Junior X was too close to the engine and would need about 8 hours to fix and rewire. he also said my valves were bad. Basically I had asked him to hook up the TrailTech guage and this is what he came back with. On a side note about how long would it take to check if the valves were out of synch?
  13. Voila! Jons suggestion actually worked. Any ideas on how to secure the wires? One person suggested zip ties. Still not sure which is the hot side hose on the radiator.
