I don't know how the stock one feels but the bike has a ton of top end power with this cam
Seems to be a pretty cool bike, have only had it for 2 days- its the black limited edition from 09 Used to be a factory race bike I think, it has pro circuit works suspension (front and back), pro circuit ti4r full system, pro circuit camshaft, pro circuit triple clamps, linkages and several other parts that arent standard. I used to ride a yz250 and this isnt much slower at all.

  2. This morning I took the tensioner out and found that the spiral spring inside it was broken- it was literally applying no tension to the chain. i'm sure all this looseness would have stretched the chain a bit so i'll change that too, kinda answered my own question here though
  3. Hi everyone So I bought a 2009 CRF250R the bike runs really well, but at idle it has a cam chain slapping noise- and when the noise is produced it almost sounds like the bike misses slightly (presumably its losing timing for a split second) but this happens only at idle and is worse when its cold. So it leads me to believe that the cam chain is somehow loose, I don't want to ride it in this condition obviously. I have taken the tensioner middle bolt out and put in a flat screwdriver and then turned it clockwise but it only has about 250-300 degrees of clockwise turning before it stops, Does this mean the tensioner is bad? it really doesn't take much force at all to turn it this small amount. Any advice on how I can rule out the cause would be appreciated!
  4. hey yeah i meant to close this thread before i got replies...anyway it turns out it was part of the magneto that was loose. the sound was the magnetic raised part on the flywheel hitting the magneto- which made it misfire too. thanks for the replies tho
  5. hi guys. just did my yz's bottom end (new conrod, small end and pin, and complete bottom end) only ridden it now for about 30 minutes max and it started to kinda feel asif the jets are blocked, or that dirty plug feeling. so i turn it off and when i turned the engine over it made a kinda clicking noise-which comes and goes almost. it has got good compression so i dont think its the rings. please just any thoughts on what it might be before i open her up again
  6. thanks for all your help guys!....im just gonna replace it, i put the old one in the piston and put it in the barrel, when i turned the flywheel a lil bit the con rod moves up but the piston stays still! thanks again people
  7. im just cleaning up my engine, powervalves etc....was wondering how i can tell if my big and small end bearings need replacing, usually i would just replace, but me short on money! help much appreciated:banana:

  9. hi everyone, my friend has a pitbike and it needs new rings, i have quite a bit of experience with 2 stroke engines, but for some reason i cant work out where the hell the bolts are that hold the cylinder head onto the actual cylinder. so any help on how i can get this right would be really cool. also i need to know what rings it uses. i believe its a 52.4mm piston..no idea.
