XR Soft Suspension Needed on 300 EXC

I am about to come to the conclusion that a lighter spring and correct valving for the lighter spring and heavy rider will produce the ride I am looking for. The correct spring and valving produces a KTM ride and that is not what I need. As I am right now if I ride really fast the bike is fabulous, but I can't do that all the time. On the other hand, my XR does good fast or slow. Surely with these fancy forks I can get them to do that.

XR Soft Suspension Needed on 300 EXC

I have already switched to ultra light oil. Most people cannot tell the difference between light and ultra light oil but I thought I would try it anyway. I have also tried changing the oil level. That makes some difference but not enough. I Need to hear from someone who knows how much lighter I need to go from stock to get that XR feel. I could guess but that would be a waste of money and time. Surely someone knows what to do to get that soft plush feel. The factory recommended specs are not getting the job done.

XR Soft Suspension Needed on 300 EXC

    200 without gear
  4. I have a 2003 300EXC that is really stiff in the front and just right in the rear. I have read many threads about suspension but cannot find the answer I am looking for. I know how to find the correct spring for my weight but I think that will be too stiff for what I am looking for, maybe not, looking for advise. I have really bad arthritis in my wrist and cannot ride the EXC but I enjoy riding my XR. What springs and settings will give me that XR feeling on my 300? I have never done anything to the XR suspension and it has been great for my wrist problem. I don't want to spend 5-700 on suspension because I cannot ride as long as I used to and it just isn't worth the cost to me. I ride only on single track and do nothing to bottom it out. I avoid bottoming at all costs. What can I do to get that XR feel out of my EXC?

    Honda Removing axle on trx450er

Are the big nuts on the right, caliper side, of the bike left or right hand threads? How do i remove the axle?

Bike hard to start after crashing-xr250l

Go with the compression release. I had the same problem on my '01 XR250R until I figured out the routine for my bike. If it fell to the right side it was harder to start than if it fell to the left side, go figure. I hold the compression lever in, twist the throttle wide open, the kick it through 10-15 times then start as usual. It will usually start the first or second kick after that routine.

    Rheumatoid Arthritis in Wrist

I have taken Relafin and I am now taking Mobic. The Relafin quit working and the Mobic is not working as well as I would like it to. A cartizon injection in the wrist helped for the first ride but not at all for the second. Since the second ride the pain has not diminished much at all. Without the "poison" I would be a candidate for an appointment with Kevorkian.

    Rheumatoid Arthritis in Wrist

I have severe Rheumatoid arthritis in my right wrist and may have to have it fused. Does that procedure relieve all the pain? And If my wrist is fused I will not be able to twist the throttle. Has anyone ever had a throttle converted to left hand use or has anyone ever used a four-wheeler thumb throttle on the right side? How well will either of those work? 60 years old and too young to give up Enduro riding.

    WUDI Ride

I start 4 weeks of theropy this week. There is still a chance that I may have to have surgery; I sure hope not. I hope to be able to ride by November. I may go up with Patrick. He will bring his mother's conversion van and spend a few extra days there with his dual sport bike or street bike besides the KTM 300.

Another link and more info about WUDI 8 Representing the South is Jim Cook. He is in our Breezy Hill Club: http://www.smackovermotorsports.com/html/talking_smack.html Representing the North is John Brunsgaard (aka "Jeb"), who actually moved to Arkansas this year. He puts the official website together but it has not been updated yet because the ride area is not confirmed. "Jeb" is a "Super Moderator" on the KTMTalk.com website. He was the guy with the motorhome last year. Check here periodically: http://webpages.charter.net/jejb/Wudi7/wudi7.html
