Ktm e-start issue, need help with diagnosis

Slavens Racing has all the parts you need to rebuild your starter and great "how to videos" as well. http://slavensracing.com/video/engine-videos/
  2. I have a four stroke craftsman lawn mower, very nice power and it always starts but the suspension is a bit harsh...

    2012 300xcw turns like a bus.

Sorry I know you have the XCW has the PDS not the link type rear suspension, just threw out the lowering link as a mod that worked for my XC.

    2012 300xcw turns like a bus.

I have a 20012 300XC, I re-sprang the front and rear for my weight which helped a lot. The bike still didn't handle quit the way I wanted so I installed a "Ride Engineering" lowering link and new Maxxis Maxxcross EN front and rear tires. These changes significantly improved the turning and my confidence in the front end. Although it took me a while to get it sorted out for my riding style and terrain I really enjoy the bike now. I just rode a friends new 2013 KTM 250 SX, this was a very limited ride but the steering was much quicker although the rear seemed to move around a lot. Not sure want the difference in the bikes are, I am sure the rear end could be corrected easily with a bit of work. I hope you get your bike sorted out and wish you the best no matter which bike you decided is best for you.

    Which stabilizer?

I have never ridden a bike with a Scott's but I have always heard good things about their units. I have a GPR 4 on my 2012 KTM 300 XC and all I can say is it makes a world of difference and I would feel lost without it, their service is top notch as well. I don't think you could go wrong with either unit.
  7. I just sold a 1997 300 MXC in similar condition for $1000.00. I started at $1200.00 so we both had some negotiating room, I really didn't need to move the bike that bad and could of held out for another $100.00 or so but thought we both got a fair deal.

    Cannot believe this...

I met a Raptor that in full slide at the apex of a corner on a fairly tight trail, I was on the correct side but the guys machine took up the full width of the trail. There was no where to go, either hit the Raptor, or hit a tree. I choose the Raptor, not sure it it was the best choice but I survived. Thank God I always ride out in front of my kids on these trails, if that world have happened to one of them I most certainly would have been in jail. What really scares me are these side-by sides and Razors. Because they are so big/wide they take up the whole trail no matter how wide it is. I almost became a hood ornament for one earlier this year as I came around the corner it was using the whole trail. I ride at a safe respectable speed on tight trails and blind corners and and have taught my sons to do like wise. I respect everyone's right to ride whatever they choose and don't mind sharing the trails with anyone. It would be nice though if some of these folks would be a bit more considerate towards us two wheelers before someone gets seriously hurt, or God forbid killed.

    What's the scoop on KTM's?

I am on my third KTM and they have proven to be just as reliable any other brand I have ever owned. If you buy a used bike just do your due diligence and make sure the owner maintained the bike correctly, this applies no matter what the brand. I can't count the number of times I have run into other riders that have purchased a used bike that was poorly maintained and when they run into problems blame it on the brand being "Junk or Unreliable".

    ktm replacement seat?

I replaced the stock seat on my 2012 KTM 300 XC with a PowerParts SXS Seat Wave. I love the seat, it is firm but not to hard nor to soft, the grip is excellent and the waves have a similar effect, albeit much less than a step-up seat.
  11. I also went to the Supercross on Saturday and while it was great I have to admit I enjoyed the Endurocross more.
