Just ordered tickets For Jan 8 showing here!

    Cams

Drz valves are two piece (welded) and do fail in high rpm, high lift/duration applications. Normal use with E or hot cams aren't a problem But if ya want more, upgraded valves and springs should be installed.

    New sprockets with new chain?

I had over 40,000 miles on the stock chain and sprockets when I totaled my ZX9r. Would not expect anywhere near that on a dirt bike??

    Easiest S to SM conversion?

I got lucky and found a guy that wanted my dirt wheels on his SM, Traded him. Did the big front brake, Honda rear M/C so it would stop on the street. The Sm speedo gear is a direct swap. Oh then bigbore, cams, carb, pipe! And its for sale.

    S TO SM WHEELS

I don't believe anyone makes a bracket for the 310mm rotor on the s/e/k forks? I believe the fork mount on the SM is different and doesn't use a bracket? Folks either use the S rotor or 320mm kit with SM wheels on S as far as I know?

Making an 07 DRZ 400 street legal in Cali.

There is a big difference between a DOT 49 state bike and an off-road bike. You will not get a plate on an off-road bike in Calif. no matter if it had a plate somewhere else. The 7500 mile thing only applies to DOT 49 state bikes.

    Exhaust

I don't know if the power bomb is much better than stock but I do know the Q isn't. I put a powercore on my old E (bigger headpipe than S) but got ticketed for noise off road and went with the Q. The powercore added some top end but the Q was no better than the stock muffler, except a little louder. While the small headpipe on the S is a bad thing. from what I've heard adding a E headpipe may only get a couple of HP and I don't believe the powerbomb does much better? While my BB runs great with MRD, it is so loud I wouldn't even think about taking it off road around here. The stock S exhaust goes back on with the dirt wheels and it is enough for me in the dirt.

DRZ 400 Hot cams stage 1 vs. stage 2

I've got the old stage 2 cams without compression releases in my BB. Doesn't turn over too good but starts. Hotcams is making stage 2 cams again. I don't know is they have releases? Would be interesting to see the specs on all three?
