  1. sorry for reviving such an old thread, just wondering, i have a 01wr250f and its possible for me to get a 03yz parts bike, would i only transfer over the exhaust cam? same alignment as wr, or yz alignment? even if the cams dont fit, its got alot of parts on it for only $500
  2. working on a tool roll holder opposite of my exhaust
  3. Thank you very much! i picked up a few front fenders and a fork guard also picked up the wheel set, they are excel pro series hubs and tagasko rims, the front hub didn't come with wheel spacers, so i'll have to make some up or find the replacements.
  4. i do believe that alot of parts were interchangable, such as plastics, tank, tires/rims what about engine parts? theres a guy selling a set of supermoto tires and rims, and a whole shed full of parts, wondering if its worth while? http://thunderbay.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-dirt-bikes-motocross-2001-Yamaha-YZF-W0QQAdIdZ402144895 http://thunderbay.ki...QAdIdZ402142341
  5. i was under the impression coming from the 250f forums that alot of parts were interchangable, such as plastics, tank, tires/rims what about engine parts? theres a guy selling a set of supermoto tires and rims, and a whole shed full of parts, wondering if its worth while? http://thunderbay.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-dirt-bikes-motocross-2001-Yamaha-YZF-W0QQAdIdZ402144895 http://thunderbay.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-motorcycle-parts-accessories-lightly-used-rims-and-tires-W0QQAdIdZ402142341
  6. hey guys, so i am totally baffled with this one, i know that our bikes make a fair amount of normal "ticking" from the valvetrain and i know what that sounds like. but today after changing a carbon fouled plug and doing some carb tinkering i took the bike for a ride and noticed this noise. while going 2-3 gear low-mid rpm constant throttle the engine would make a few louder ticking noises when sharply steering back and forth, like rocks hitting the mudguard, but it was on pavement... i havn't ridden much offroad since this bike is reletively new to me, maybe it was rocks!?! i ride mostly on a street bike. and yes. i used the search button Thanks! qwiky
  7. I bought my bike with this problem already happened, with the grenaded bucket it also had a main bearing blown, i'm guessing the two problems happened at the same time, the engine looked pretty starved for oil or overheated, hope my input helps, 2001 wr250f center intake bucket

  10. THANKS! i'm probably going to buy a carb rebuild kit at the same time, you always seem to be the first to respond to everyones posts with your wealth of knowledge, and i thank you for that! @swede
  11. i did the same thing, i took off the top banjo, lettting air into the system, after many hours it wouldn't work, you have to get the brake line as straight up and down as possible, mine has a curve at the top which goes above the resevoir, thats where all the air was trapped in mine.
  12. henever i tried snapping past 1/2 throttle it would backfire and loose powertheres also more noise than usual coming from the cam chain side any thoughts?
  13. if your racing that might be a problem, tooling around on trails might not be such a big deal?
  14. i had to do the exact same rebuild as you!main bearing and a dropped valve at the same time, its a little intimidating, you'll always find one more thing that needs replacing! i've got some videos on youtube of my rebuild, (qwikyking) i spent $800 and the bike came with $1200 (brand new head, cams, cam chain etc) make sure you have the right tools, if your getting frustrated...... DONT keep working on it, bad things happen. hope it works out for you (Y)
