  1. This is my first post so sorry if it looks elementary. I have a 1994 KLX 650R that runs fine but as I rev it up the headlight/taillight dim. But if I slip the clutch to take off the light actually gets brighter. The stator is putting out about 14V AC from all 3 yellow wires at ~4000RPM. The voltage regulator is only putting out about 4V DC and drops significantly as I rev up the engine. The stator resistance between each yellow wire is ~1ohm. Does anyone know a way to check voltage regulator to be sure its good/bad? The connector for the regulator has 5 prongs - 3 yellow from stator and 2 out....I guess for fan/headlight/tailight. Any help would be appreciated!
