  2. Mushferbrains, I cant upload the instructions on here due to it being a PDF but if you send us your email we will be more than happy to send them to you. Your muffler does not require a clamp we do recommend using Hi temp silicone on all the connection points. In the future you can always tell if a muffler needs a clamp or not based on the end of the mid pipe. If the end of the mid pipe is solid it wouldn't require a clamp as you cant compress a solid piece of tubing. If the end of the mid pipe has slits in it that would require a clamp as it compresses the tubing down to size. As for the inlet sleeve, if you are mounting your muffler to a FMF header you would not utilize any inlet sleeve as its a direct slip fit connection for the 2003-2005 models. However, if you are using your stock header you would need the sleeve that comes in the hardware kit for the muffler. The part number of the inlet sleeve you would need is a 040648 and they retail for $19.99 again, that is ONLY if mounting to a STOCK OEM header.   3. Hi, I am trying to remove the current insert and install the quiet insert in the Powercore 4 muffler that I have on my 2016 CRF250L with no luck. I remove the allen key screw holding the current insert in place then tried to pull out with needle nose pliers, dental pic, etc with no such luck getting any movement. Would there be anything else holding it in place? Thanks

      those things could be tricky boogers sometimes. what we found works best if its being very stubborn is taking the bolt out and starting the bike. You can ride it around in a controlled area and the heat and pressure should just push the insert out.

  4. rossborne14 - Sorry you are having an issue, it can be so many different things. One thing we would recommend is disconnecting your battery (both your positive and negative terminals) let it sit for at least 6 hours or overnight disconnected. when your ready to ride the bike again connect the battery, put a fan on the bike and start it. Let the bike idol for about 10 minutes uninterrupted, so don't touch the throttle or anything like that. In MOST cases this will help the system adjust to the new settings. let us know if that works.

  6. Pbody, We feel that a spring is not needed with the FMF system, with the muffler being hard mounted to the sub frame and the mid pipe being hard mounted to the frame they aren't going anywhere. If still uneasy about that you can run a bead of high temp silicone on the connecting pieces for that extra piece of mind. If all you need is a wash plug you have a few different options to save you a bit of coin. Option #1 - You can visit a local dealer, dealers are getting very good at keeping little stuff like wash plugs, decals and packing in stock. you should be able to walk in and walk out with the wash plug and even pick up some oil, grips and any other little things you may need. Option #2 - You can order directly from our website, if the order is under $20 it will apply a $10 service fee and the minimum of $12.12 for shipping.   9. I am sorry you feel that way but I can assure you with 100% certainty that we do not treat sponsored riders better that the average Joe. All of us here at FMF ARE the "average Joe" hence the reason we are working a 9-5 so we can support our motocross addiction. If you were trying to order a part that was on back order the sales department might have asked you if you were a sponsored rider so you can be transferred to the rider support department to be added onto a call back list where we would call you back once the item was available. The sales department has a "call back list" as does rider support. As for your emails; as long as they didn't get blocked by our firewall I can assure you they weren't ignored. I personally go through EVERY email that comes through and we respond to everything, regardless if its a little kid asking for stickers or its a warranty issue. The only way I can see it not getting responded to was if it was sent over 3 and a half years ago. You do have a choice in which exhaust you want to run. Do we have manufacturing defects every once in awhile? yes absolutely, but what makes FMF the best company in the industry is our dedication to you the "average Joe" rider and getting them back out on the track as soon as we possibly can. If you didn't get that service when you needed it I personally apologize. The only thing I can say is give us another shot and I promise you will NOT be disappointed in our product OR our excellent customer service. I mean I don't see any other company on here checking customer satisfaction and taking care of issues. That alone shows that we are committed to your satisfaction.
  10. Yes, the powercore 4 will be louder than the Q4. However, we do offer a quiet core insert (040630) for the Powercore 4 that will bring it down to Q4 levels. When you buy the quiet core insert the price basically comes out to the same as a Q4. I personally would recommend the Powercore 4 and add the insert that way you could have it loud if you would like or keep it quite.   11. @wildeman78, Thank you it looks great! thank you for giving your review on the pipe, very much appreciated. @speedyreedy, the more I look into your situation I am 99% sure you are installing the clamp on backwards, did you install the pipe per our instructions step by step? Our tech department just had a call yesterday with the same issue; we were working through the issue per our instructions and the customer realized he was installing the clamp backwards pulling the muffler closer to the tire. If you would like us to help you and try and walk you through the issue please don't hesitate to give our customer service department a call and we would be more than happy to take some time and figure this out for you.   12. @speedyreedy, that's odd this is a very popular pipe and we don't have any fitment issues with these. A lot of times people change the rear tire to a larger size especially on the S model. You can send us some photos to sales@fmfracing.com and we can try and get this situated for you.

I remember you saying you purchased a flange kit already, regardless if it was purchased through us or not, we can do an RMA and get it back here to credit you for that kit. Sorry again for the confusion and the inconvenience, your header was the very first one made in 2009. It was made in January, not long after that before the next run of headers we changed that flange which is what we call a "Running Change" we try the best we can to supply parts for all of our products especially the older stuff. But this situation is especially unique because we only have a handful of that style header.
  14. We are sorry for the issue you are having with your header. FMF is always making improvements to our products to meet the high demands of making a quality product. These are known as "running changes" We are currently looking into this issue, after your email it was brought to some peoples attention and we are disusing it this morning. If all goes as planned we should have some part numbers for you to order soon. As soon as we get some more information we will let you know ASAP.
  15. Every bike is going to be slightly different in DB levels when not having our insert installed. it would range anywhere from 98 Db to 102 Db. However, we do recommend keeping the insert in, our 4.1 RCT is designed to meet all sound regulations all while maintaining the optimum performance. In many cases you actually get more performance when having the insert installed apposed to having it removed.
