  2. OK, thanks... the pressure just seemed excessive, but I figured they called it an expander ring for a reason.
  3. Here's a pic of what the overlap is when I spread the ring in the bore using my fingers..
  4. I'm trying to install my Vertex piston ring set that uses 3-pc oil rings (the wavy expander ring and two rails that fit over it). I know it's supposed to provide outward tension on the oil rails against the cylinder wall, but the expander ring is just too big. If I install the compression ring in the cylinder(as you would to check the ring gap) and put the expander ring on top of it and press it outwardly against the bore, there is about 1/4" overlap. I can put it in without the overlap, but it puts what I feel is too much pressure on the inside of the cylinder. All ring gaps are what they should be, but this dam expander ring has me puzzled... and this ain't my first go around installing piston/rings. I've looked online for some kind of instructions on if there needs to be some kind of gap on the expander ring, but can't find anything. I did read somewhere that I shouldn't touch/adjust the expansion ring. With all rings in the piston, I can get it into the cylinder but it takes a lot of force... and the piston is extremely hard to move. Vertex instructions here: http://www.na.vertex...nstallation.pdf I feel I need to do something with the expander ring... need some reinforcement that I'm doing the right thing!!
  5. Hahn tweeted this: WilHahn31 "Wishing the rest of the @GEICOPowersprts team the best luck second moto. I'm headed home. Pretty tore up bad concussion and sore all over." Don't think anybody else was taken off the track like he was. Glad he's going to be OK... looked bad when he was just lying there and not moving.
  6. Pretty sure RV's front brake wasn't working after the collision with Stewie... so yeah, props to RV for getting 9th!
  7. Wanna sell the Guts soft comfort?? It's just the foam, right? Did you feel you were hitting the seat base because of the softness?
  8. It's very easy to kink the cable when putting the gas tank on... gotta make sure the cables tucked in towards the frame when mounting the tank.

  10. If it hasn't been mentioned yet, the biggest and only disadvantage(to me anyway) to the auto-clutch is the inability to bump/push start it. Also, engine braking can take a bit to get used to... you have to learn to blip the throttle to stop it from 'freewheeling'. But once you get used to it, it's not an issue.
  11. If I promise to go buy a Braun product later today, will they stop it with those ad's????
