Ktm 500 Exc vs Husaberg Fe 570

Since postings this dilemma, not surprisingly I am hearing really good points for both bikes. How long are oil change intervals on those bikes?

Husaberg Fe570 vs Ktm 500 Exc

Currently I have 2008 450 sxf. Did bunch of stuff to turn it into woods trail bike. The previous owner did a lot of power mods (engine to bondi, k&n air filter etc). I really like the power, but it rides too harsh for trails. My son has a Husaberg Fe450 which I also like. I am looking for something that better suites trail riding than my sxf, but that has more power than my sons. I am looking at Ktm 500 exc's or the Husaberg Fe570. There are two, in particular, a 2012 exc with 1850 kms, and a 2011 fe with 12,000 kms. I have heard that the Husabergs last a lot longer than the exc's. Husaberg costs $1000 cheaper to buy. What are your opinions and past experiences on the bikes? Reliability? Ease of maintenance? Power/ handling? Thanks

I have owned many bikes, and the Berg is by far my favourite. From the power, to handleing to comfort i love everything about it.

    1999 Yamaha YZ400F Running after 10 years

Unfortunately i didn't. It was mainly carb work and cleaning out the fuel system.
  10. Here is a short clip of a 1999 Yamaha YZ400F that I fixed in my auto glass. First time running in 10 years. Was in terrible condition, fuel tank had 4 leaks, rotten fuel with dried up fuel lines, clogged up carb, overfilled with oil etc. Very smokey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfaEuyRLYhY A cool fact about this bike, it is the first one ever made... on the VIN the last 5 digits are 00001.

Considering a husaberg but have a few concerns

What o313 said is correct. The 2013 and 2014 Bergs are rebadged KTMs. The only difference is the plastics.

    Dirtbike nicknames

    2011 Husaberg FE450: Husaburger
  13. For the Canadians in this forum who read speed in km/h, I have an average speed of 57.8 km/h over a mix on tight technical trails and more open logging trails

    Battery Charging Issues

Right now I'm using a "battery tender mini". I guess taking the fuse out would be less of a hassle than unscrewing a battery terminal aha And currently I have a shorai in it. Only 1 year old, but sometimes my bike acts like the battery is dead and has a hard time cranking, so I just keep it charged all the time.
