  1. i replaced a bad head on my 88 sp200. it was supposed to be a lt230 head with cam. the head was in awesome shape. when i looked at the combustion chamer i was confused. from what i understood the 230 head was to have a larger cc head. i can say for sure that the head was a semi-closed head. it doesnt look like the lt160 though i think. it is definetly smaller than the one that was on the bike. the intake valve was smaller as well. it has an s-2 cast number. it also had a smaller intake manifold. i was able to cut it out and get the carb to fit. it also had a vacuum port in the top. now for the camshaft, i measured the lobe height from base circle and i got 1.290 and the other one was 1.320. i cant remember which one was which. the one in the bike was bigger, but dont remember how much. i didnt get a chance to drive it before putting it together, but i can say it is really surprising on power. i have a hi flow muffler, kientech carb kit, and pod filter.
  2. ok thats some feedback. it looks like a 230 piston is a little tight for the jug. i think i am going to have to go with an oversize suzuki piston, i just have to pull the head and look at the piston to make sure its a stock one. the oversized will have a .50 on it right? i will start looking for a header from a 230 quad and a cam. looks to be a good upgrade and mine are in terrible shape.
  3. so many people looking but not a lot of feedback. i need to order stuff from tt store whiukle my coupon is still good
  4. i was all excited and i thought my questions may have been answered...
  5. i am a little confused, i understand 230 jug is a no-go b/c of stroke. the piston can be used in the stock jug|? i though it was like a 8mm difference in diameter. it sounds like what is the best idea in your opinion for a rebore assuming its a virgin cylinder. i dont want to get all crazy with different carb and all that. i also heard that the cam and head pipe is an upgrade for the sp/dr. any thoughts?
  6. i had this posted in the dr forum, but i was redirected here, cuz you guys are the swap kings apparently. I just picked up an sp200, got it running, but it seems to have low compression judging by kicking and hard starting. so i was looking in to piston upgrades with 230 quads but its a lot bigger round than the 200, so what about cylinder swap with a 230 0r 250. i've looked all over tt and the internet with very little feed back and i know that the dr200 is like a cousin of the sp so that's why i am here. so what are the options for my new top end? rebore with stock suzuki parts, new jug? i need other parts as well, so if you9 have some give me a call, 610-256-1638 josh
  7. ok thanks
