Frequent oil changes prolongs crank life. Valve train oem is best bang for buck. Stay on top of valve clearences. Every 15-20hours depending how ur riding it. Yes the over rev is harder on the valves but if u want power outta these little 250s 8,000+ is where to find it
-
Plus just a simple remap won't give u much more power. It will give some. But the most notable advantage to a remap is the throttle response and efficiency of the motor. Unless u do major motor mods that call for large fueling corrections
-
I wouldn't send anything to eddie. He sold me a map that was way too rich and for nearly a year I've tried to get a hold of him periodically and always left message and call back info..not a single returned call.

Should be fine. An rhc cam will give u power through the range. These 250s have to be run up top to get the power.a cheaper way to get low end without a sacrifice up top is tb insert. Rhc makes one u can find pretty cheap. Fmf just came out with one too. They stole ron's idea but he already lost his rights to that product when he left tuff
-
Yes but at loss up top
-
Great kits. Made by phsychic.

The single cam is a simple design that's easy to work on. It's one less cam to time and there is very very little to gain powerwise with duals. I just hope they stick to the single cam. If they'd go back to the single exhaust too that would be cool lol

Every time I've had seats cut it changes my valve by about .15mm.
-
Duhhh! On my part...I'm seriously friggin dislexic today..Idk what I was thinking I was trying to add a decimal place. 5 thousanths. Not 50 if wtf I was thinking when u said 2-3 thou I was thinking .0002-.0003
-
In all reality ur probably looking at 50 thousandths per cut. I usually am a big time advocate for pm but seat facing I feel like it will lead to loss of compression so I do mine evert hundred hours not every valve change. Unless of corse they are bad out of spec.
-
2 to 3 thousandths is hardly even scratching the surface.
-
250 hours!?!? U should try turning the throttle a little
-
It's good from a maitanance perspective maybe, but u can only cut the seats so many times. If ur doing valves every 50 hours ur seats aren't going to last long
-
False. U don't have to cut them everytime u change valves. U just have to check them everytime. Make sure they are proper angles and measure the contact plane on the valve. If they are in spec and undamaged then a recut is a waste of money. I generally go two sets of valves on a cut but depending on ur maintanance program and what valves ur running that will vary. The guys that are wearing seats hard generally slack on maitanance by running valves out of spec. They wait for the bike to start showing symptoms befor checking tolerances. I do it every 15 hours. Oem are good valves. Stainless intakes are terrible..there are better valves than oem but unless ur a serious racer no need to drop the extra money
