  1. New to me 1978 Ford F250 Ranger Camper Special. Big Block 460 Edelbrock 4 barrel, C6 trans and a Dana 60 rear end!!!! Runs great! Got to replace a rear wheel cylinder this weekend.
  2. Freedom? I thought that's what motorcycles are for! What about financial freedom or the lack there of because you got all your money tied up in a truck you don't use or may use 3 times a year? I know lots of people like that as well. They end up having to work all the time because they got to make ends meet, but hey if they ever get a day off they are going to put that baby in 4lo and wheel the shit out of it woooooo, except they don't want to scratch them 20" rims that seem to be standard equipment anymore and the rim dressing that are passing for tires just does not have the grip.
  3. Yeah if you need a truck and legitimately need the capability then you should get a truck. Hell this is Murica get a truck regardless of if you need it or not, it make no difference to me. There are bunch of people I know my,my father included, that drive full size 4x4 crew cab trucks that are garage queens, never towed anything, never been offroad and have seen little more then a couple of bags of mulch in the bed. They buy a truck just because they like trucks. Nothing wrong with that just does not make since to me.
  4. Not trying to judge, I am sorry if I offended you. It's not like I am pissed off or anything about people using trucks for cars. All I was saying was that I do not understand the logic of buying a truck to use as a car. Anyway I think we have de-railed this thread, lets get back to hating on Toyota trucks and their high resale value.
  5. The Toyota Sienna is offered with optional AWD, although the ground clearance might be an issue. There are people who use a truck as a truck and there are people who use them as grocery getters. The later I do not understand.
  6. Yep too many of them out there. Most people would be better off with a minivan and a utility trailer, but need to look cool so... A Honda Pilot and a 5x8 utility trailer gets it done for me, although I get mistaken for a soccer mom far too often, oh well.
  7. Nice truck, I will trade you a couple XRs for it.
  8. You would have to be a moron to pay that much for a 4 year old used truck with no warranty. You can buy a 2015 for $32k. Why bother getting a used one. Hell you can buy a new 2015 Tundra 5.7 4x4 double cab TRD, for $35k, a way more capable truck, with a warranty and some pretty decent finance offers, as low as 0% for 36 months. Sorry I just don't get it. You are right though it will probably sell.
  9. Another good example: http://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/4949366868.html You can buy a new 2015 model crew cab trd off road for $32k why in the world would anybody pay $30k fo r a 2011. It is four years old, by no means a new truck. The savings in financing a new vehicle vs used would probably make it cheaper to buy a new one.
  10. I just loop a strap through the rim and attach on each side. Keeps the rear wheel from moving left to right. Easy peazy
  11. Alright but what's your bottom dollar? Would you take a chevelle hood and a High point 9mm on trade?
  12. Someone call the police because you robbed that dude, lol. You got almost twice the blue book that's insane! Suckers born everyday I guess. Don't even get me started on what old FJ40s are going for.
  13. I understand it is not exclusive to Toyota just seems to be more prevalent. Somebody is drinking the kool aid I am only joking. But seriously who is going to drop 9 grand on a 23 year old truck, that has no power, gets pretty much v8 gas mileage, prone to rust and has the payload capacity of a golf cart. Chances are you going to have to have the cash in hand because a bank is not going to give you a decent loan for such a vehicle.
  14. Case in point http://tricities.craigslist.org/cto/4937360729.html Dude wants $9000 for a 1992 with 160000. If memory serves me correctly the 3.0 was kind of POS. Looks reasonably clean but no way is it worth $9000. Toyota tax I guess.
