    is this ok?

    not worth the risk.
  2. what a prick. there are too many cops that think theyre above the law and they can do whatever they want. even here in canada the vast majority (90 out of 100) of cops will try there hardest to get you laid with as many charges and tickets as they possibly can. theres a couple o.p.p around here that wait at the ends of trails in my area for guys on bikes to come out onto the road. encountered one of them a couple days ago, luckily i spotted him before i hit the road. stopped in the sand (not on the road, or the shoulder, the sand on the trail. guy get outa his car and starts waving at me and shit, so, being respectful and not a dick, push my bike over to see wat he wants. THE MINUTE I HIT THE PAVEMENT this guy starts yelling and tells me to get away from the bike, it wasnt even running and i wasnt on it. he comes over and tells me i was speeding (on the trail? lol?), that i am on an unregistered bike that could very well be stolen (mind you i had the ownership and insurance in my fender bag) and that he was going to have to impound my bike and all this shit about how i may never see my bike again and starts dexcribing in length that the tickets and fines i'll have will be pricey. this fool tried to trick me. i didnt friggin like that. i gave my mom a call and told her what was going on and her and my stepdad showed up. man my stepdad freaked on this guy when he heard the shit this goof pulled. i packed up my bike into my parents truck, and by ther time i was done, the cop was getting back in his cruiser. i asked what happened... turns out this guy didnt have the balls to explain why i was going to be getting a speeding ticket, my bike impounded, and all sorts of fines. im happy i dodnt get worked over by this guy but im still going to go down to town and talk to whoever is his superior. i dont want this guy on the streets anymore! think of all the people hes done this to and gotten away with. dont get me wrong there are some great cops out there but the 1 &%$#@! ruins it for all of them!
  3. details? what happened? im always keen to hear if and how justice was served!
  4. so what happens when your battery dies? starter motor gets bashed? and your tired or stuck in the mud or god knows what? youll really be wishing you had that kick starter. now if its closed course motocross, I could see it being a benefit. but still, even then, its just much more conventional to have a kick start. in every way, id much rather prefer a bike with a kicker than a bike with e-start, with the exception of a bike that has both. and still then, it would depend on what extra weight was added. and if I really had a need for it.

why cant cops just leave us alone?

I ride in the bewdley area, and I live out in garden hill and the opp are always around. theres and opp in particular that lives just out the other end of a trail from my house whos tried a couple times before to get me. and its funny, because hes the same cop that was put on the case when my moms truck got stolen, and we told them who the guys were that stole it, know what happened? absolutely nothing. the lazy and corrupt bastard knew one of the thieves dad's and protected his ass through the whole case. would not submit any reports and would not take him in as a suspect. I think it might just be the area that I luve in, but the more I get older the more I see how &%$#@!y and corrupt my area is and the cops in it.

    Good job pirelli -_-

beat me to it... that musta been one hell of a fluke that you got the 1 quality Pirelli tire. those things are trash.
  7. in sand or mud theyre pretty useless... like having a slick. all the knobs get choked and filled up with mud/sand and its like your riding on a slick. theyre really only good in the woods or on concrete, and god help you if its a rainy day.

    Liquid Courage

smoke, all the time. roasting a few bowls always makes me want to go for a ride and see some of the outdoors. makes me calm and collected, and helps me find rythm and see the nicer lines through from further away then usual. i feel smoking makes me a bit more concentrated on my speed and rythm. now with drink, i get into a whole new world. i rarely ever ride after a beer or 2, and ive only ridden 'drunk' once or twice. after a beer or 2 i find all the best lines and have the courage (hence the name liquid courage) and confidence to ride at the higher spectrum of my ability, and i usually have a great time and rip the shit outta the trails, and i can cover alot more ground then if i were stone sober. but it can be a good or bad thing, because more courage and confidence= more stupidity and hooliganism. and like i said, ive only ridden a couple times smashed, and it was probably a really bad idea, but your not gonna argue with a drunk person right? all joking aside though, wouldnt do it again. much more responsible meow. by far id rather smoke than drink before riding, for obvious reasons, and personal reasons. (more of a smoker than a drinker)

whats the bigest bike you've rode

i owned an 81 xr500r when i was 14-15. i am now 17 and ive got a 93 kdx 200. id say i learned that displacement doesnt mean power. but damn that thing was fast! and just imagine a 14 year old rtrying to kick over that thing, what with the decompression and all. i had a sore leg many a time.

If you didn't ride, What would you do?

id have to take strong hits off my crackpipe at steady 3 minute intervals to be able to keep the adrenaline going the way a bike does. or i'd probably just end up dying of a broken heart somewhere in an argentinian slum. riding is life! dont know where i'd be without being introduced dirt bikes. my life would probably be pretty depressing...
  11. I agree with the gayness of the tire and not to mention the rear fender looks like its been looped once or twice

    400ex to dirt bike?

get a 125 or 250 smoker or if you don't mind a heavy bike for those times your on the track maybe an exc 200-300? haven't ridden one but heard lots of good about them. maybe a kdx or an xr if the track isn't too dear to you. personally wouldn't go with any of the newer 4 strokes (race bike that is,... xr's, drz's and klx's are pretty much bulletproof) too much $$$ to be spent on rebuilds. smokers are the way to go.

    how many trail riders here?

Ontario... gotta love having the ganaraska forest just a few steps past the end of your driveway! great single track and open quad trails... and countless riding spots!
  16. i keep my worn out sets so i can stud them in the winter, instead of buying a brand new set of tires to then put studs in and permanently ensure ill never get to ride those babies on the dirt. just my 2 cents... and you spin em till they blow? what degree of blowage we talking here? how does your rim like it?

Do you support your local dealer?

nope, the local dealer round these parts is a crook, and he wont match prices.

Can you start a KX 125 with no gear oil?

    don't even think of it.

Two Stroke Owners! How old are you?

I'm 17 and i've owned 2 2 stroke bikes and 2 4 strokes and ill never buy a 4 again unless its 2007+ and a very, very good steal

New bike for mostly trail riding.

for your first bike, if it were me i'd get a 2 stroke. but thats just me...
  21. all thor boots are great for the money. cant remember what model but i got a white and back pair (either quadrants or whatever the offroad model of quadreant is) from royal distibuting (dunno if they ship to the states, but their prices are amazing) and they were around $190 canadian. best boots ive owned. and for the price id buy them the rest of my life. theyre a bit hard and solid feelin at first but once theyre broke in theyre wicked. thors also got some boots that were like $80 bucks regular price (NOT on sale) that were the same basic deign, fit the same, and felt the same, that seemed pretty economic, i just felt like spending the extra $100 caause it was burning a hole in my pocket. go for them. great quality boots for the price. theres always gonna be someone out there that tells you their shit, but dont knock em til youve tried em. theyre great.

has this tyre been smoked up?

just looks like a tire thats been on the road. ive gotta ride alot of roads to get to trails, and my tires look worse when they get like that. and like the guy up there^^ said, if he was doing burnouts, youd see all the melted blobs of rubber stuck on the underside of the fender, theyre quite a bitch to get off. and also someone else up there had a great explanation for the clutch, he probably either put auto oil in it and frigged your discs or he just wasnt so skilled with the clutch. i dont think someone would be doing burnouts and dumping the clutch on an xr600 they borrowed. but then again, he could just be one of them there idiots...

    Backpack vs fender tool pack?

i'd say to get yourself a backpack, 100%... no matter where you put a fender bag or saddle bag, its pretty likely whatever is in the bag that isnt metal is going f***ed up. i know cause ive got one of those useless units. i thought it was the greatest thing ever when i first got the bike it was on, but it didnt last very long. ruined my phone, and cracked a spark plug and crushed the plug wrench anyways (so its not like it would have helped me) in a wipe out where i went over the bars, where the back fender hit the ground first. bag wasnt wrecked, but everything in it cept an adjustable wrench got wrecked. they will carry things, but they dont protect... atleast if your stuff is in a backpack theres a good chance it wont get wrecked. and fender bags also get alot of holes and rips in them after 2+ years, to the point where youll start losing things out the holes. it gets really annoying, i barely use my fender bag anymore, all i keep in it is an adjustable and a combination driver. get yourself one of those smaller backpacks like camelbacks come in, theyre great. theyre very compact and they can be really snug so you can keep them from moving around and whatnot. and plus, they hold alot more than you'd think.

Do all dirt bikers have ADHD?

its a misture of adhd rockstar, rum, meth, LOTS of jolly ranchers and my masculinity. but in all seriousness yes i actually do have adhd and most of the riders ive met have add/adhd aswell....

why cant cops just leave us alone?

haha! i live in garden hill (part of port hope twnship) its right near cobourg and peterborough... if you know the area, i was riding in the ganaraska forest, for what its worth i was right near bewdley. seems to be where cops are when you see them (if you see them). not the first cop ive seen. i will admit though it was the only one i ever stopped for. i usually just pin it and make a mad dash to the next trail openeing. i already know im gonna get some heat for that but hey... i usually dont take the time to weigh my options when im startled by a cop in my sight!
