  1. Let me dig the 450s up for ya
  2. If you look at the power curves for the 450 vs the 500. My 500 was makin great hp till redline my 450 always started to drop around 9500. The 500 torque is higher and stays stronger longer than the 450 The redlines i am use to are 9500 for the 500 and 10500 for the 450.

  5. Everything is done and installed, but found out the regulator bit the dust and killed my lithium batt in the process. It happens, and thankfully my dealer caught it...
  6. Swappin the cdi is easy, correctin the fuel curve is easy, watchin your engine blow up on the dyno would be jaw droppin priceless..
  7. Am portin the original 500 head, and will reuse the 500 cam, no need to change somethin that is better with an inferior cam. My question is simple though, how can a 450 make more power than a 500 when the heads are pretty much ported the same, and the 450 cam has less lift and potentially less duration than the 500???
  8. Ok, so we tried the 500 cam in the 450 head and its not goin to work, the cam is meant to work with roller rockers and not the slide rocker. Have to think what i want to do. Am goin to put this idea to sleep for a week for travellin
  9. Latest update, the 450 cam is smaller than the 500 cam, so i am goin straight to the ported head. I may buy a 2017 500 cam and compare it to the old one.
  10. Heres my baseline, a tad too rich, but thats what bazzaz suggested...
  11. Todays objective is to add a clamp on o2 bung to my Ti exhaust, then get a base line on the dyno, then swap to the sxf cam and get a new run, then swap to the new head and get another run, then get the new 2016 sxf cam and one last run...
  12. This isnt my first rodeo, i did the same thing on my 450 sxf, but i went with a guy i didnt know and he did an okay job porting, the power was linear and at wot in 6th gear, you couldnt touch me. Yes i added a 6th gear to my 450sxf for i used it for trail rides, had 13/51 sprockets and i never looked back...
  13. I know the new bikes are all redesigned, but i feel the cams are similar in design and operation. I counted the teeth on both cam gears and they are both 36t, i will check if they use the same bearings, but an ebay pic to pic makes me wonder if the 16 cam will fit in a 15 bike Comments?
  14. Ok, head is ported, looks pretty good. My friend added some warnin that i may have a tendency to over heat, for added compression and lower deck height, i am not worried for i upgraded the waterpump and hoses. So i will be fine.
  15. I had the stock pipe, it was ok, then tried the fmf powerbomb, much better, now i am usin the akra header and akra muffler. Much better but i also have the 500xcw tune which really opennes it up. I also went a step colder on the sparkplug and she bounces off the rev limiter pullin hard...
