  1. I be Jay Leno doesn't have one of these. http://www.funpic.hu/en.picview.php?id=21051&c=-1&s=dd&p=9&PHPSESSID=6a3cc70f909f1745b2e6aef36611d4b8
  2. If you don't have a plate, you can't get one now. Law passed early in 2004 outlawed bike conversions in CA. Bikes that got the plates before the ban are going for $1000 over blue book. If you are interested in dualsporting checkout http://www.advrider.com/forums/ These guys ride big KTMs and BMWs on DS adventures. This site will certainly give you the bug!

I'm bailing too. If if rained as much there as it did here in Vista, it is gonna be very muddy, wet and cold.
  5. Had about four rounds of rain here in Vista starting at 3am. First rain here in six months!
  6. I don't know much about it other than its a D*** good looking bike. Motard is big in Europe and just getting started in USA. Its pretty outrageous. These things take a different approach to road racing. They actually slide the rear end around turns, ON ASPHALT, with these things, then do some racing on dirt ... all in the same race. And they look cool too.
  7. You wan the 2004 Husqvarna SM450R. < HuskyUSA link >

    LC4 400 Riders

My 2000 KTM 400cc LC4 SXC is stock. Had to stand up and be counted on this one.
  9. Don't let ride height limit your choice. I don't have first hand experience with lowering kits, but below link offers them for many bikes. < Koubalink >
  10. KLX300R is 230# and sits low. My 2000 KTM 400SXC is 259# (dry), but sits high. Just because a bike is a 250 doesn't make it light. Don't dismiss the 400cc bikes. They are about the same weight. You can see weight of all bikes on below NADA site. They give pricing and weigh. <<< NADA LINK >>>

What skill level is required out there? I'd like to go, but worried I might slow ya'll down. Recently got a 400cc KTM SXC after 20 years of not riding dirt bikes. I'm 45.

Last I heard, those artifical knee/hip joints wear out after about 10 years. Probably the doc recommends less active lifestyle to so the darn thing will last a while. If you have got more than 20 years left to live, I'd think hard about getting a joint replacement. Going through that every 10 years would stink.
  13. How about a KLX300? Its 230# and sits low for short folk.
  14. What/where/when is Broken Toe event?
  15. I assume you are traveling cross country. KOA campgrounds. Pitch a tent for $15. All KOA's have bathrooms with free hot showers. Get a yearly membership and get a discount on fees.
