Low budget performance silencer with spark arrester

I am one of those. I have followed many of your threads over the years and just recently lucked onto this bike like I said. I forgot all about them really. My daughter had a pw 50 up until a few months ago but i sold it as she was just too big for it. This deal came along and I'm glad it did as it will be perfect for her for a long time. I'll post some pix of what I come up with. Thanks for your info.

Sorry for wearing you out on this. See my pic to clarify the exhaust flow. It comes in towards the point of the "bullet" gets swirled by the fins and then the airflow goes through the tube or does it have to turn 180* and go behind the funnel piece and into the rear pipe.

Is the exhaust outlet through the pipe right after the turbine? Like the tube is sliced 180°.

Thanks allot, that will really help me out.
  5. I would think a axial piston motor inside the front wheel would be the solution. If you were able to find a suitable motor to use then you might possibly do the reverse for the rear wheel in a pump form.
  6. Do you have any stock pw 80 silencer internals you'd sell? I bought a used bike and the guts are missing. I need the silencer to be stock for the USFS certification. I checked, I have the front half, but not the silencer nor the silencer guts. You can make a simple packed muffler using some pipe, a few washers, gutter guard and window screen. The outside of the silencer will still say USFS approved and the screen acts as a spark arrester.

Look for a thread I wrote "Budget Silencer" http://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/690058-low-budget-performance-silencer-with-spark-arrester/

The images are gone because the server that hosted them is defunc...

Thanks for checking. Do you have any pictures of what the guts look like? I am a fabricator so building the correct internals is not a problem I just don't know what it looks like.

Ignore the stinkbug look the bike came with a adjustable shock strut that was way too long.

Decent bike for the size. Drum brakes are not the best.

Great beginner bike for basic trail riding. Poor suspension, brakes and an extremely heavy engine make it hard to ride for more technical trails or smaller riders.

    Hole in case...weldable?

Should be a easy job for a decent welder. Hope you experience that.
