    Turn That 07 450

I installed the RG3 offset triple clamps and noticed an imediate difference in turning. Not to mention the benefits of the rubber mounted bar clamps for vibration. ANd if that's not enough, they look awesome!

    Starting

I have an '07 CRF 450 and I was having problems with it stalling in the corners and panic braking. Probably mostly operator error. However, I did put a 13 oz flywheel weight in and had a local race shop do the carb mods(upped the pilot and main jets) and I haven't had stalling problems since.

    Yoshimura exhaust

I forgot to ask you how it sounds. Is way better?

I too have a new '07 and I am considering the Yoshi. One of my concerns about all of the systems out there is that they will be longer than the stock muffler since Honda shortened it this year to "centralize mass". What do you guys think about that? Is it even an issue? I am interested in your stock header pipe and will PM you.

    Yoshimura RS2 Comp CRF450

Wow! I was just about to purchase the same system for my new '07. Does anyone else have this system on their bike with no problems? BTW - I had an '05 CRF250 with the FMF Ti 4.1 system. It was great until someone hi-sided it and bent the sub-frame. It caused the exact same problems: wore off the blue anodizing on the muffler and wore down the side of the knobbies. I took the rear wheel off and used a Port-a-Power (hydraulic ram) to straighten it out. I also spaced the muffler away from the sub-frame for extra clearance.
  6. I live in Texas and I'm looking for a dealer in a nearby state with the best price on an 07 CRF450. Any help is appreciated.
  7. I am in Houston, 213', 90+ degrees and high humidity. I installed the JD kit. Went with blue needle-5th clip and 185 MJ. The engine was "splattering" during roll-on which I assumed was rich. Also it "splatters" bad at WOT. I moved the clip to #3 position and it fixed the roll-on problem but not the WOT problem. Should I now reduce the MJ to say 180 and will this cause my clip position to change? Thanks for your input.

    450f over a 250f ? Advice please.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have found since my post much other prevoius discussion on the matter and have gleaned a lot from it as well. I have the Power Now plate drilled, the JD jetting kit, the grey wire mod and a 42PJ. It is still not making the power I think it should. I forgot to mention that I have a WR. I'm wondering now if the sprocket ratio could be part of the problem. I just got but haven't installed yet the smaller leak jet and different AP. Maybe that will help some as well. It is hard to forget the 450 after having ridden it though! Thanks again.

  10. I ride a 250f and am considering a 450f. I weigh 170 , 44 years old and don't race. I ride mostly on the track and some trails. I've never been totaly happy with the power on the 250. I've spent a lot of time on the mods and jetting and it's still boggy. My concern about the 450 is that it may have too much power for my weight and skill and I might be more likely to get hurt. I rode one this week and loved it. So I would like your feedback on things like is it harder to handle because of more weight, is there a better year model to get, what mods are important, etc.? I'm looking at '03's in the $3800 dollar range. Thanks in advance for your input.

    Ok, What is the deal?

I am a fairly new owner of a WR250F and I had oil leaking very bad out of one fork. I took a thin (.005") feeler gauge and slid it up the fork and ran it around the seal. Problem solved! I had already bought seals and oil and was about to tear into the forks when I learned this trick from this forum. Thanks guys!

    Twisted forks?!

Hey Hutch Thanks for the info. I loosened my axel pinch bolts, straddled the front wheel and turned the handle bars. I heard it snap back into place and everything is straight now just like Blasted's bike. I really thought I had a bent fork. I'm very relieved!

    Twisted forks?!

Wow, I'm brand new here and I can't believe how much crap I just had to read thru on the twisted forks Q.! I just recently bought a WR250F and wrecked it the other day. My front end looks just like the original posters picture. I was wondering if I needed to take apart my forks and roll the tubes in "V" blocks while checking with a dial indicator for out of roundness(as in the manual) I will try loosening everything first though and see if it all lines back up. Any other thoughts are much appreciated.
