  1. I believe when KTM bought Husqvarna that KTM committed to 10 years parts support for current models. The alternative may be that Gas Gas goes belly and up and owners get ZERO parts support. I am looking forward to another STABLE manufacturer of trials bikes.
  2. Sorry if that is too far for you to drive. Anyway, this is what you missed: Maybe some day, a dirt bike club will start up in Erie or a neighboring county, and they will put on a dual sport trail ride event.
  3. There is a great AMA-sanction dual sport ride scheduled for this weekend: https://waynecountymc.com/monkey-butt-100
  4. September 8th: https://waynecountymc.com/sprint-enduro September 14th and 15th: https://waynecountymc.com/monkey-butt-100
  5. Guys who I regularly ride with and have run the Pirelli MT83 and Vee Rubber VRM 308 4.25-18 back-to-back. And they all got better life and cornering with the Vee Rubber VRM 308 4.25-18, none complained about straight line traction with Pirelli MT83. Trailmeisterjoe, have you tried a Vee Rubber VRM 308 4.25-18???
  6. Several riding buddies have tried the Pirelli MT43 rear trials tire (on dirt bikes / dual sports) and got great traction (when brand new) but the life SUCKS. I have always had great traction and life with the Vee Rubber VRM 308 4.25 -18 tire. The Vee Rubber VRM 308 is DOT rated and engineered for dirt bikes (not trials bikes). Per Vee Rubber's website: The Vee Rubber VRM 308 4.00-18 is a traditional trials competition tire and will not have the life and cornering performance of the VRM 308 4.25-18; I imagine that the life of the VRM 308 4.00-18 will be similar to the MT43. I can tell you from personal experience that the VRM 308 4.25-18 does not roll over in hard cornering like a traditional trials tire does.

  9. No, it is all about knowing and using the loop holes. I have street plated and street titled the following bikes (I did not have 8 random acts in a row): 1984 Honda XR200R 1995 Kawasaki KDX 200R 1999 Honda XR400R 2003 KTM 450 EXC 2007 KTM 250 XCFW 2010 KTM 250 XCFW 2014 KTM 350 XCFW 2018 KTM 250 XCW And if my 2018, had turn signals and if I bothered to inspect it, there is really nothing the police could say. In fact, I got pulled over in Canada 2 years ago, and the OPP let me go. They said there was nothing they could do since I was plated in my home state. ?
  10. It may be best to ask here: http://www.offroadontario.ca/forum/viewforum.php?f=24
  11. Top secret .... sent you a PM.
  12. I am interested of potentially doing something in July. I snowmobile up there every year and last tried riding Tug Hill ATV "trails" in 2003 on my street-plated KTM 450 EXC and got bored real quick .... like you said, a lot of qwads just looking to get to the next watering hole. I have a street plated 2018 KTM 250 XCW 2-stroke and have a range of 50 to 65 miles. But I am not really interested in riding dirt roads unless it is to get to the next trail section.
  13. A friend from Lewiston tried the Algonquin 2-Day Dual Sport Ride 2 years ago, and he did not express any desire to go back .... I will leave it at that. Here is a couple of upcoming rides to consider: June 23 Wayne County Motorcycle Club Adventure Ride (little to no trail, but I hear it is fun and scenic) Atlanta, NY http://www.waynecountymc.com June 23 Flint Ridge Dual Sport (lots of fun single track) Brownsville, Ohio http://www.lickingcountytrailriders.org
  14. Don't miss Saturday night's BBQ and trials demo. If you can, stay and ride Sunday's route too (this is a 2-day event). Have fun!
