    87 RFVC problem

well it has been a little while for no update. I haven't had any luck finding the 25.5mm exhaust valves. does anybody have any ideas?

can anyone tell me where this wire pulled out from?

you cannot test ohms while the component is electrified, you can use a timing light to confirm ignition spark, to test the stator. check for continuity (ohms) between white/yellow wire and ground. specified resistance is 0.47 ohms then check between the yellow and the pink wire , the spec is 0.58 ohms the exciter coil black/red and ground between 200-500 ohms hope this is what you wanted. it is not necessary to remove the stator for testing, all you need to do is un plug from the main bike harness

can anyone tell me where this wire pulled out from?

simply, that wire is for the neutral light. may not be used on your bike the end of that wire just slips through a brass terminal down by the sprocket and is held in place with a small spring from the back side

I do have the de compressor all hooked up, where do you put the shim? does it still require complete disassembly? thanks Steve

well I got my bike all back together, painted the frame red, re painted all of the white, and wound up painting the engine gloss black. so I got it all back in and everything was ready to go, filled the oil, put gas in it, gas promptly started running out of the carb, that's a minor issue. went to giver a kick and see if I could get it to lite up, and the kicker is slipping like a mofo. so I haven't done it yet but I know im gunna have to pull the engine back apart and fix the kicker. so what I wanna know is, is there any updated parts (stronger) for this engine? the bitch of this all is there wasint any issues with the kicker before I pulled it apart, and I even inspected it all and didn't see anything broken, so this all kinda pisses me off. anywho let me know thanks Steve

    Noob Question

the "T" is for top dead center. you will need to hold it in place. a 3/8" breaker bar (jhonson bar) usually helps. it will fall off center otherwise

so my parts came it so now I have the engine all re assembled and basically ready to re install in to the bike. but I have one question, what color should I paint the engine? the clutch cover on it is a silver color, the block is kinda black looking, the alternator cover looks like it was silver and painted black the cyl and top end is all black. but I don't know which of the colors is the "correct" one for my year and model. also open to individual opinions thanks

    What stator to run lights

what he said. I run a halogen light on my bike with the use of a universal voltage regulator I got from royal distributing (01-154-15) on my bike I just taped it in to the yellow wire and you just hook it up in parallel with the headlight feed, one wire on the regulator to the yellow and the other to the chassis just a side question, where in Ontario are ya? im up north of Barrie
  12. steve_1987

    what is this

looks to be a pressure regulator..... but I really haven't a clue. im not familiar with those engines

    XR200 Won't idle

I would sugest checking your cam timing marks. and ensure that you aligned to the correct mark on the fly wheel. if changing your timing is having an effect, it sounds likely that you have the top end out one tooth

do you have your cdi pulse generator timed correctly?
