  2. LOVE this bike. I envision something like this for my other xr4 once I get around to building a road legal version. Do you have a build thread?
  3. Here is a thread devoted to racks for the xr4
  4. Crazy story dude! (Sweet pic)
  5. Awesome looking bike. Looks brand new!
  6. I like to use a piece of wire through the cam sprocket and up around the frame to hold the sprocket and chain up while removing the cam. Be sure to use loctite when reassembling the cam sprocket bolts. I almost had a catastrophe because I neglected this step and those bolts worked their way loose
  7. That was my next question, is the auto decompression malfunctioning. Confirm for us the mechanism has been removed from the cam. So we have fuel at the spark plug, you say there is spark happening, air is presumably getting to the cylinder. I would still question whether you have compression, since this issue popped up after a valve adjustment. Remove the plug, set your crankshaft to TDC on compression and confirm by sticking a wire into the sparkplug hole. Recheck valves. Have you removed the fuel screw and confirmed the presence of the spring, washer and o-ring? Also the condition of the top of the screw?
  8. Have you tried disconnecting the decompression lever completely (at the head) while doing your starting routine? I noticed you said you adjusted it at the same as the valves. Or maybe the auto decompression is sticking and holding that valve open? Is the plug wet with fuel when you pull it out? When you tried to push start did it sputter at all or just nothing?
  9. I think I remember a thread a while back where someone had a crack in the case right at the bottom of the oil drain bolt hole. A forum search might find you that thread.
  10. Is it possible the kickstarter is not seated all the way on the kick start spindle, pushing it further out and interfering with the foot peg?
  11. I'm running 14/45. I love riding tight single track, but find there's a lot of time spent right between the top of 2nd and mid 3rd gear. I'm gonna swap back to a 15 front for my next ride and see how that goes. I've also been thinking about running 14/48 so I'm riding more in 3rd
  12. I regularly do 70-80km on about half of the stock tank. That's woods riding single/double track.
  13. You won't get any responses here. Start your own thread
  14. Search the forum for the proper procedure for checking the engine oil level. Sounds like your engine oil is way over filled.
  15. You will need a plate for the bike and off-road insurance. One time fees for the forest I think are $30/day or $150/year for the pass. No track but hundreds of km of trails
