Are you gonna try and go up Noah?
  2. I just put it in for the coupon code during checkout on their website. Knocked off a 105$.
  3. I dont believe they are. Bell used to be but Ive read that they are all made overseas now.
  4. Dude they’re all basically made in China with the exception of Shoei and Arai that are still made in Japan. UFO helmets are made in Italy and look pretty cool but lack DOT certification. I wrestled with that too but and the end of the day I expect the manufacturer to stand behind their product regardless of where it’s made.
  5. Whoa wish I knew that a couple of weeks ago. That’s an amazing discount.
  6. Man you’ve gone this far may as well try that ATR-2 out. I also kinda agree w ride200 in that if you want a perfect fit sometimes you need to customize with the pads inside, I had to as well. I liked the Shoei a lot too. It’s a bit heavy compared to all the other offerings gs though. Check out Chris Keefers website, https://www.keeferinctesting.com/. He tests most of these lids and has some valuable insights and opinions.

    6D and Bell sizing?

No I got it from my local shop and they got it directly from 6D. I thought Arai had their one shape and mold which they build all there helmets off of. They even have a name for it I can’t recall at the moment. Either way it was very different from the Shoei and 6D. I’m don’t think it’s that bad to swap factory pads on different shell sizes. Why would a company do that with out a explicit warning, especially a helmet company. I actually believe it’s common practice if you are between sizes like am, but I’ve been wrong before.
  8. That’s one of my favorite obstacles there. It got me on Saturday too. Had to double back and try it again. Still didn’t clean it. Some days you get it and some days it gets you.

    6D and Bell sizing?

I just bought an ATR-2. And tried on the Bell as well. The 6-D seems true to size and similar in shape to a Shoei imo. The Bell has more of Arai shape to it and just didn’t fit right for me. I’m on the cusp between a large and medium and ordered a helmet with a large shell and medium pads. Fits perfect now. Basically I think the shell may be the same size and the difference would be made up in the padding. If the Arai fits you well you may like the Bell a bit more.

  11. It seems like all these areas are fairly close to each other. Throwing the bike in the truck for an hours drive would be just fine by us. Do you have a favorite place to camp?
  12. Yeah it’s all good. Thanks for asking. It was a boxers fracture and not much to do about it. I’m back on the bike now though and trying to ride as much as I can before it all shuts down up here. Probably be getting back out IV some time soon to conquer the trail that got me.
  13. Normally ride Stonyford, GT, and Penny Pines up here. Two out those three are no longer accessible due to the fires this year. I would like some fun and fairly technical trails, hill climbs and some with flow. I mostly just don’t want to drive a day to get to an area and have it be flat and boring. It’s hard to coordinate time off with friends these days so I’d like it to be memorable and fun. I’m a middle of the pack C rider when I race these days but can handle my own most of the time.
  14. So the two are fairly close to each other then? What’s nice about Spangler?
  15. A couple of buddies and I are trying to plan a trip down to the southern deserts to ride for four or five days this January. Having never spent any time riding in that area I was hoping to get some recommendations. We would be towing trailers down and would preferably find one good area and spend the time exploring it but are open to checking out multiple spots if it doesn’t kill a day driving. Maybe base from one area and truck over to the next. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and recommendations.
