    13 kx450 handlebar settings

could one of you guys go out and see what settings the factory set on the handlebars. I am replacing a crashed set, and just want to set them up per factory I think the settings go from 0-6 Just look down from the top, and see where the notch is set on the number that is on the bar. I know I can adjust to fit me, but just want to know the factory settings thanks
  3. I firmly agree with this point. I have already told my story elsewhere, and do not want to sound like a schill, but I really believe, and doctors confirmed, I should have head trauma I think it is very important for every rider to seriously consider the price vs hospital bill. My wife finally went, and measured where I crashed. From impact to where I ended up was 96 ft. I broke alot of stuff, but my head was perfect..Luck? maybe 6D has my helmet now, to do an inspection. I am interested in knowing the results

Get what you pay for? (Helmets)

I don't want to get into any pissing match at all. All I have to go on is 30yrs experience with motorcycles, sprintcars, and boats. I have raced them all. The biggest concussions I have ever had were on a motorcycle. Whether going fast, or just having a bike slip out from under you, it seems your head always hits something. When I had my last crash I ended up 75 ft from the bike, and I was thrown like a rag doll. Having more than 4 bones broke all over my body, I was amazed that I did not have so much as a headache. Like I said above, no less than 3 doctors wondered why I did not have head trauma. I don't care about others research, I know what worked in real world testing. I do not have any connection with 6d, but it will be the only helmet on my families head, until something better comes along. I too, was very skeptical about the 6d because of price, not anymore, I only have one brain.. Thanks Lee
  5. I also have contacted 6d, and Scott emailed me a short time after. I will send in my helmet as soon as I am up, and around. Like Dragon, the are interested in seeing the damage, and I am interested in knowing what happened I already told them I am a customer for life, and that they would make a killing in skiing helmets. My helmet has very few scratches, but I crashed similar to bell's crash, only I think the bike landed on top of me which crushed my hip. it will be interesting.

The main reason I posted is that nobody hates helmets more than me. Most people will go for the cheapest which I was one. I recently decided I only have one head, and my family has only on person who supports them. The technology on the 6d makes sense to me, which is why I decided to get one. Glad I did.I really hope others will decide the same. I have always thought that foam transfers the energy straight to your head. The 6d helps keep those forces, to a minimum. I am living proof to this concept, many may not buy in, but I know the results of my crash @ somewhere over 60mph
  7. crosspost Here I sit finally back from the hospital. New hip, 3 broke ribs, broke shoulder, broken pieces of vertebrae. I hit, and bit hard going pretty fast. 2nd ride with the 6d, I hurt everywhere, but not even a headache. It was impacted, but not sure the damage as I am still bed ridden, and don't care.. I have had high speed, and low speed crashes, and almost always have at least a headache, if not concussion If I get back on, I will have another 6d.. This only my opinion, and I will not debate it. I hit hard enough to be flown 50 ft from the bike, and my hip was incinerated. I was doped up real good, but I remember at least 2 doctors saying why doesn't he have head trauma, everything else is smashed. I believe it saved my life..

I am not an expert. I had the same problem on mine.. I went soft in the front, and changed to a softer front tire. It helped a lot. I have used maxxis desert, and kenda washougal fronts, with good results
