  1. Only thing is its brand new it has a total of 5 minutes on it so that's why I would see what you guys thought, mabey it just didn't get set right on there or something ill tear it down after school today
  2. I just had my top end rebuilt by a local bike mechanic, I recently had a 270 kit in my 09 kx250f until I blew it up, I had him put a stock barrel and piston in, all new valves, and a new intake cam. I get the bike back from him and go up and down my driveway a few times and my coolant was just dumping into my oil. I don't want to take the bike back to the guy since I feel like he ripped me off on a few things, but I was wondering if there was any other places coolant can get into the oil, I've checked the water pump o ring and the impeller shaft I know the head gasket can be a culprit but I wanted to see if anybody had any other ideas before ripping it apart again.
  3. How do I test the stator? And I've checked the switch
  4. Go to farmers houses and ask if they have any tanzy you can pull
  5. It's an 2009 kx250f
  6. Hey guys so I rebuild my top end and everything works fine except I'm not getting spark.. I've checked all the wiring and grounds and everything is fine. I tried a couple different plugs, I took the coil off of my friends bike that's the same and tried his and didn't get anything. The only thing I can think of is the magneto but I'm not sure on what to look for and how to fix it. Any intput is helpful! Thanks guys!
  7. Hey guys, just wondering what surprises you've found in/on your bike when buying used. I bought a 2009 kx250f and kept getting milky oil. I thought it was the water pump seal at first but that didn't help, so then I did impeller shaft but neither of those worked I then pulled the head off and did the head gasket. That didn't help either but I thought i might have screwed up on the head gasket and then realized i had a big bore kit when I looked at it again and was buying the wrong head gaskets. I bought the right gasket and havnt had milky oil since! I'm definitely going to pay more attention to details and if I ever buy used again ill make sure I know its a good bike!
  8. I'm not sure about the valves because I can't get them out yet till I buy the tool. The clearance was between .0039-.0059 last I checked this was around 5hrs ago but i know it was good when last checked and there was no damage done then either. I can't think of the shim size but ill check tomorrow. It has good oil flow and yes the bucket had oil on it. And ya the lobe was worn down all the way around so there was no clearance. Something went really haywire and I'm stumped by it. I'll give you more info as soon as possible. Thanks!
  9. My bike felt really sluggish on the track one day and then died and would not start. I pulled the head off and my intake cam had completely worn a whole in one of the valve buckets and one of the lifters is worn down and squared off. Can anyone help me figure out what happend and why it only happened to one valve? Everything else looks good I have not pulled the valve out yet but I can push it down a little with my thumb. And also the bike has a 270 kit idk if that makes a difference or not. Thanks guys!
  10. when I push it its still really really hard and I can barely get it to move and no not yet I will right now
  11. Ya but look how it turns everything cloudy and whitish

  13. ya I'm thinking we are good too, I just have that thought in the back of my head ya know?
  14. So my buddies and I got our hands on a backhoe and dozer and are building a decent sized track on the corner of our property, but I've kinda had a few thoughts on the county heckling us. The track sits on the corner of the property and for the most part is on a hill that is to steep to farm and the lower half of the track takes up close to a football field sized chunck of our 40 acer hay field. I was just wondering if we'd have to have any permits or anything for building the track. It's not visible unless you go down my neighbors road and they ride too so I'm not worried about noise complaints but any thoughts on this?
  15. No fuel is fine I thought the same and drained it. I thought about compression test but I'm not 100% sure on how it works
