    Another carb question fcr mx41

Okay so I just went for a ride. A side note not relating to tuning exactly but it did seem stiff like a break was catching up or a wheel was stiff. The bike has not really ran for over a year and a half. Went for a ride it ran decent. seem like there is still a little lack of power like it's too rich almost. I was stopped at a light for a couple minutes and when I went to take off I stalled and it was a pain to get started. What should I try adjusting?

From what I have read most people are saying to just drill it out the size of the leak jet opening

Start with a 35 okay sounds good do you know of a link that someone has gone through and drilled out a float bowl port. I am not sure if there's threads behind it if I need to thread it or any of the important details.

What size is your engine? I didn't really need one until I got to 462. I think it would of helped as a 434 though. Smallest is 35 I think. The setting on my Power Bowl is equal to a 50 leak jet per the instructions. The bike responds like it's injected. 440 Athena kit with hot cams

Copy that. if I decide to change my float bowl and do a leak jet what is a good range to start with as far as the jet size should I just start with the size you have for your leak jet? Or start smaller working my way up?

Is there an option to drill out an opening an add a leak jet or do I have to get another cab in order to do that feature?

What exactly does a leak jet do?

How necessary is it to disconnect the accelerator pump when tuning de-carb. Right now if I give it a couple quick repeated burps of throttle around mid-range I will get some pops black smoke and every now and then a flame out of my exhaust. not sure if that is just the accelerator pump shooting extra fuel into it temporarily. Everything else sounds good

The spring that is just behind where the throttle cables connect on the carb I believe it controls the slide closing. is there a way to get a stronger spring, should I buy a new spring? I do not think mine is heavy enough.

Carb cleaner and air compressor or high-proof gas and air compressor what do you recommend for cleaning can you remove that nozzle completely and soak it?

You don't want a mist. It should squirt a stream out a few feet like a water pistol. Ok to clarify. What I did was I connected the carb to the tank filled up the float bowl and primed the AP. With all the air out I disconnected the carb from the tank so I could hold and examine everything better. One time out of several cranks of the "throttle" to WOT I had a sputter of stream not full mist but definitely not full stream for the whole duration. The rest of the cranks I got a stream... Also the stream isn't consistent kind of has a hesitation or change of direction in the pee. I'll post a video if I can. Did I do anything wrong?

Wire mod done. the duration of the squirt is now about one and a half seconds definitely faster sometimes almost gets a slight mist
