  1. my suspension is stock now and to be honest it does fine, but i read all the posts about getting your suspension done and how good it is it makes me wonder, it is time to get the shock serviced/recharged do i need it revalved? i don't race i basically ride trails for fun, i weigh 200 without gear, i just want to get stiffer springs but the guy who is doing the work says i need a revalve for the stiffer springs, basically what i am asking you guys is will i see a huge difference if i do the full meal deal new springs and revalve, is it worth it since i don't race is it worth the money thanks

  7. so i have not ridden my 05 wr250 except in the yard for 2 years but got to ride saturday and everything was fine except my riding skills anyway i start it up today to warm it up to change the oil and after 5 minutes of idling it cuts off like i shut the fuel off, but i can't get it started, did i dislodge some junk/varnish and gum up the carb saturday, where do i start beside pulling the carb and cleaning it up after the 2 year lay off, thanks

    Newbie - Should I get the WR250F or WR450F

i weigh 200 without gear, i have a 2005 wr 250 and i can tell you it is very fast all i have done is the free mods and a yz pipe with promoto endcap for the spark arrester, the only time i ever have any problems is on very steep mountain climb's you have to have it in the right gear it will not lugg out a gearing mistake (say you are in one gear high) a 450 will bail you out and lug it out, so it is always rider error with me anyway, now my wr 250 replaced a yz 450 so it isn't apples to apples, you will love the 250 unless you ride in the sand i can tell you my 250 will spool up very fast and it is true you ride it at higher rpm's but that is just the nature of the smaller engine, and you don't have to ride it more aggresive, i am lucky enough to have buddies that will let me ride there bikes and i have tried alot of different bikes the only time i wish i got the 450 is the first 5 minutes riding, 15 minutes later i am thinking to myself your a moron and i always know that i made the right decision after lunch, i did like my 450 but i was wore out after the first hour because you had to hold on for your life, one more point and i will get off my soapbox, i could never keep up with my riding buddies on my 450 they would smoke me in all but long straight shots but i am on there ass and pass them at will on my 250 especially the second half of the day and i don't feel as wore out on the 250 that's my take also alot of guys on the 250 forums swear a big bore on the 250 is the best possible setup, i will go with a big bore when mine gets older but i have over 1000 miles on mine and the valves have not moved and it is as quick as it was the first 100 miles good luck i don't think you will go wrong with either bike i just think you will be happier with the 250
  11. i need some new barkbusters for my 05 wr, word to the wise don't get the plastic ones they look good but don't protect the levers very well, anyway i have been thinking about getting some fat bars do they give you any advantage other than looks? i have not bent my stock bars in 2 years of riding so they seem to be holding up well give me some input please
  12. i don't have one but i never reset my odometer just turned a 1000 miles anyone with an hour meter keep track of miles and hours? was looking for an average possibly thanks for any feedback
