  1. YES I HAVE THE BIKE TOGETHER AND RUNNING. I AM JUST HAVING TROUBLE GETTING IT TO IDLE. MIGHT HAVE THE WRONG CABLE ADJUSTMENT IS ALL THE WAY OUT, BUT IDLE IS STILL TOO LOW. RUNS PRETTY GOOD THOUGH.
  2. THE SPACER IS PROBABLY 3/4 TO 1 THICK DONT KNOW ABOUT THE GAS I HAVE NOT HAD IT RUNNING YET. WOULD THE IGNITION TIMING STAY THE SAME OR WOULD I HAVE TO MODDIFY THE PLATE SO IT CAND BE ADVANCED OR RETARDED.
  3. THE CRANKSHAFT IS ALREADY DONE AND IN THE BIKE SO MAYBE I WILL JUST TRY IT AND SEE WHAT IT DOES. THE IGNITION TIMING HOPEFULLY WILL STAY AT STOCK SETTINGS. IF I GO BACK TO STOCK I WOULD HAVE TO GET A STOCK CRANKSHAFT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY.
  4. I JUST PICKED UP A 1998 RM125 MY QUESTION IS WHY WOULD IT HAVE SOME SORT OF A SPACER BLOCK UNDER THE BOTTOM OF THE CYLINDER TO RAISE IT. THE CRANKSHAFT THAT IS IN IT MUST HAVE A LONGER ROD BECAUSE THE PISTON COMES TO THE TOP JUST AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO. HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN THIS DONE AND WHAT WOULD BE THE ADVANTAGE TO THIS MODIFICATION. ALSO WOULD YOU USE THE SAME OR AND TIMING AS IF IT WERE A STOCK SETUP. THIS IS A NEW ONE ON ME. I DID NOTICE THAT THAT YEAR DID HAVE DIFFERENT CYLINDERS AND CRANKSHAFTS DEPENDINGON WHAT LETTER MODEL YOUR ENGINE WAS. THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF IS MAYBE ONE OF THE MODELS IN THAT YEAR HAD A LONGER STROKE CRANKSHAFT. ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION ON THIS I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. I AM MORE CURIOUS THAN ANYTHING. I HAVE LOOKED TO SE IF ANYONE MADE LIKE A STROKER KIT FOR THIS YEAR BIKE BUT I SEE NOTHING OF THE SORT. FRAME # JS1RF15C9W2100488 ENGINE # F114 147954 CYLINDER # 6GD0 I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER CYLINDER THAT CAME WITH IT # 8M1E THIS ONE HAS A CYLINDER LINER WITH IT TO BE INSTALLED AS THE CYLINDER HAS BAD GOUGES. THANK YOU HOPE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ALOT MORE THAN ME ON THIS ONE.

    1994 CR250 TRANSMISSION

I have a 1994 cr250 when putting the casings together as soon as it starts to go together the transmission jams up and is very hard to turn. I have done many 2 stroke engines and never run into this problem. I have taken the transmission out and started from scratch counting all teeth on the gears making sure all the correct washers are where they are supposed to go measuring all the washers to make sure they are the correct size. I put the transmission back in the casing it spins nice and smooth shifts up and down through the gears all good, but as soon as the other casing starts to go down over the shafts and has about a 3/8 inch gap from going together the transmission binds up and is very hard to turn. The crankshaft spins fine. Totally stumped. If anyone has any ideas or run into this problem I am all ears. I can take criticism if I am doing something stupid, but like I said I have done many of these and never seen this problem before. All help will be greatly appreciated.

1994 CR250 KICKSTART WILL NOT RETURN

YES I DID REMOVE THE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY AND I WAS AWARE OF THE ALIGNMENT PUNCH MARKS. I ENDED UP FIGURING IT OUT. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION WHAT I FOUND WAS THE PARTS LIST SHOWS 2 THRUST WASHERS 1 ON THE BOTTOM OF THE GEAR AND ONE ON TOP AFTER THE SPRING LOCK. THE ONE THAT THEY SHOW GOING OVER THE TOP OF THE SPRING LOCK DOES NOT BELONG THERE AT ALL ONLY ONE WASHER ON BOTTOM FOR THE GEAR. THE WASHER THEY SHOW GOING ON TOP IS SHOWN WITH A HALF OF A BOX SYMBOL AROUND IT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT MEANS, BUT NEVER THE LEAST THAT TOP WASHER IS THE PROBLEM CAUSER. IT WORKS SMOOTH AS GLASS NOW AFTER THE CASING HAS BEEN TIGHTENED DOWN. SO I AM ONE HAPPY CAMPER RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO HELP ME OUT, AND I HOPE WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED HELPS MANY OTHERS IN THE SAME SITUATION. IT IS VERY NERVE RACKING. THANKS AGAIN. 4423MARK.
  7. I HAVE A 1994 CR250 AND THE KICKSTART LEVER RETURNS FINE AFTER I PUT THE CLUTCH COVER ON ,BUT AS SOON AS I START TO TIGHTEN THE BOLTS ON THE COVER THE KICKSTART LEVER WILL NOT RETURN ON ITS OWN. IF I START LOOSENING THE BOLTS IT SPRINGS BACK. I ORDERED A NEW GASKET AND PUT GASKET SEALER ON BOTH SIDES OF THE GASKET THINKING IT NEEDED MORE CLEARANCE BUT THAT DID NOT DO THE TRICK EITHER. ANYONE HAS ANY ANSWERS IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRIECIATED. THANK YOU 4423MARK.

    CR250

First of all thank you for responding as for ebay I have been the total distance and nobody has one for a 1992-1996. I have even called numerous salvage yards dot know why it is this rare, but that is what I am finding out. I found one but it had already been welded up and still had a hole at the end of the clutch activation arm. But I appreciate you respndind to me.

    CR250

I have a 1994 CR250 and the left side crankcase is bad I have had no luck finding one any where. I do know if I was replacing just one side that I could use one from 1992-1996. The question I have is if I were to replace in a matched set from other years than 1992-1996 could this be done and if so what years could I use for instance say a matched set from 1997 ect. Thank You.

    crankcase problem

Hello everyone I have a 1994 CR250 that needs a left side crankcase. A 1992 -1996 will fit, but no one on earth has one do not no why it would be so rare. My question is if I use a matched pair say just off hand from a 1998 would any one know if my internals and top end would work doing it that way with both sides from other years. And if this is possible would any one know possibly what year or years that I could use. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You 4423mark.
