    Some more questions about my DRZ400SM

    Can you guys tell me which piston ring goes on top? There's a blackish one and a silvery grey one. https://m.imgur.com/zjzJL6b Silvery one is on top, blackish one is on bottom.

    Just pulled the trigger on that cw kit, I'll do just that. I hope the pieces drained out with the coolant, but I'll do the drain shortly after I rebuild as you say.

    Nah I was talking about the last post I made about the metal pieces. If you look at the imgur album, the water jackets cracked and I was worried about where the metal bits might be.

    Im also wondering about the metal pieces that were cracked, would they be in my engine somewhere or do you think they'd have drained out with the oil and/or coolant? i wouldnt know where to look really =__=;

    What would you say about this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/141229107069?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 The piston is a forged CP piston which I know is good quality, the cylinder seems to be the same as cylinder works quality.

    Thanks guys, I think I'll end up getting the cylinder works kit, you think it would be okay to just get an appropriately sized piston and use that with the bored out oem cylinder I just bought. What's the easiest way to get out the wrist pin circlips? I can see it in there but I can't remove it... I thin I will be getting a cw 434. Also, my one exhaust screw is going in sideways now and I can't get it in all the way, is it crossthreaded? And if so, is there anything I can do about it? What kit do you guys think this is that came on my bike? 95ish mm, Piston looks forged.

    So I cant use it anyways heres some pictures of why and I was wondering what you guys think I should do... See below: http://imgur.com/a/c0B7Q So i think the bore is 96? i cant tell if the cylinder is warped or what, the piston seems to be about 95mm in diameter. As you can see from the cylinder head, the water jackets are cracked and broken. The replacement cylinder I received is exactly 94mm ID and as advertized. What would you suggest I replace here? I was thinking either of these two: 1... Bite the bullet and get a CW 434BB kit or 2... Get a 94mm Cylinder and use the oem bored out one I just got in the mail (last two pics there) tl;dr - Its always something isnt it?

    Welp, I get it tomorrow guys, I'll Install it and hopefully it works okay. The guy said if it doesn't I can return it for a refund. Anyway, it's more of a temporary fix until I need to replace the top end.

    Just purchased this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171282423944?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Should work just fine, and its an OEM suzuki part bored out to 94mm, which gives me piece of mind over the cheapo namura/magnum/etc... ones that you mentioned. So ive got this coming soon, and im still waiting on replacement piston rings.

    The cylinder... I wasn't sure what to call it, the thing the piston reciprocates in. The water jackets are cracked right where the head meets that part. I'll take pics of it when I get home. The piston is good tho

    Some more questions about my DRZ400SM

    So I tore the engine down again today and I drained the oil and coolant beforehand. Oil looked okay but smelled awful, like it was all burned. The coolant had oil mixed in, which means I was right, head gasket was done and blew on me. Upon further inspection, however, it is worse than I thought. Some bits of the cylinder head actually cracked off and tore around the water jackets. The cylinder is in need of replacement, the piston looks good though, so does anybody know where I can get just the big bore cylinder head and nothing else? I have New gaskets, Piston Rings and what appears to be an undamaged piston still.
