    How's this bike?

So what do you think the second one is worth? I dont know why people are asking 4-5k for these drz's. I do like that it comes with dirtbike wheel/tires though.

    How's this bike?

What do you think of this guy? It's above my budget, but maybe we can work it out. http://blacksburg.craigslist.org/mcy/4633640698.html Last year I had a super stock drz400sm, so I don't know what to think of this one. Don't know what all of those red tubes are either. It also looks like it would need a rear tire going into winter. Let me know what you would do if you were looking for a drz400sm/supermoto. I am not limiting myself to a drz400sm, but I think my budget it lol. Don't know what else would go for under 4k. Thanks! PS: Do you think a supermoto would be better to have going into winter compared to a supersports? and found this http://roanoke.craigslist.org/mcy/4565703551.html

Places to ride Near Virginia Tech?

Hey guys, I just got accepted to Virginia Tech! I was wondering if there are good spots to ride dirt bikes there. It seems like it's in the middle of nowhere so I bet there is, but wanted to know for sure. I'm in a city so I can't ride dirt bikes here. Been riding sports bikes and a supermoto, but I really want to try dirtbikes and going to VT may allow me to do that. Thanks!

Is this normal for first gear?

So when I am in first gear and slowly hit around 28 or 30 miles per hour, it feels as if I kind of reached max RPM. But if I go WOT than it doesnt feel that way and goes much higher in mph before I hit max rpm. Is this normal?

Hows the bottom of your DRZ?

Haha, well the little rust I was talking about is on the tube frame to the left side of the metal skid plate. Not on the skid plate but on the frame of the bike. I guess I should put something there too. I was just wondering if I should do something about it.

Hows the bottom of your DRZ?

Since you can easily take these bikes offroad and do some jumps and stuff, does the bottom of your bike scrape and what not? There is what seems like a very little rust kind of area on the bottom of mine. Is that a big deal (on the left side of the bottom frame)?

    New DRZ400sm owner... Some questions

    New DRZ400sm owner... Some questions

So is it normal for there to be a little popping sound on deceleration? Very little not much. I know a lot can mean running lean or w/e, but I am guessing very little popping is normal... Stock exhaust and stock everything as far as I know.

    New DRZ400sm owner... Some questions

Well, the ninja 250 is much slower than the 400sm for sure. The drz400sm has BALD as bald can be tires right now so I cant really go WOT, but it is still faster than the ninja. So if you dont want anything slower than the DRZ than dont put a 250 engine in it. I hear great things about being able ot take the DRZ to the twisties, but the ninja was light weight and could handle the twisties really well too. I can't be of too much help right now until my michelin pilots ship in. ninja250r goes 0-60 about 2 seconds slower than the drz.

    New DRZ400sm owner... Some questions

Thanks for all of the great advice guys, but I have one more thing boggling my mind. I have found videos and stuff on valve adjustment/check, but the part that no one really mentions is, what is its SIGNIFICANCE? I never had to do this before this bike. Since I got this used bike at 2500 miles I am just going to assume the guy before didnt do it and that I should. I thought it would be wise to know why I am doing something before I actually do it. And what is meant by having a dirty carb? I got my hands on the manual so I am now starting to read it and than will jump straight into the FAQ's in this forum. thanks for all of your support.

Thanks for the great advice. Ill see what kind of riding I will be doing as I am not too sure yet. Another set of wheels sound great though! Is there a cheap clutch lever I can buy for now? I know the zeta or w/e is supposed to be good but I dont plan on spending $50 or w/e it costs since I have a big list of other things to do for now. Like this? Will it work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-DRZ400S-SM-00-11-Street-Clutch-Lever-Silver-/170852708664?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c79d7138&vxp=mtr
