Alright. I think I'm gonna grab that set, because I found it online for $235 after tax + a five dollar membership... Site is in Canada, and shipping is free. I'm pretty happy with that so I think that is what I'll grab. Thanks for all the help!

They are buying the wheels pre-built special order... If I get them I'm gonna order than myself from mec and buy a 5$ membership. Seems like it'll be worth it. By "loose ball bearing hubs" you mean the ones where the axles tightens on them and holds them in place? I'm ok with that for that price...

So went to my local shop... They said best bet is an Alex SX44 built with a shimano m475 hub and DT Swiss spokes for $250 front and rear. Good deal? Don't want it busting right away again...

The ST (I believe) has an ERD of 603 vs 599 which is a negligible difference for sure... I'll probably go with those if that's the case. (Every night around this time I can't get on the website) Thanks for all your help!

    any one tried tire balls

I looked them up... Imo tire balls look better simply for the reason that if one or two pop it will be fine due to there being 25-35 balls in there. However, tubliss definitely has the publicity, and the price point so...

So, my hubs are "All Terra" basically rebranded Salsa Mukluks, if that means anything to you. Also, the ERD (effective rim diameter btw) is 604 on my Alex MD19's... Would going to a 599 really cause that much trouble? It's 5 mm which means 2.5 mm on either side of the rim... I don't see that causing a major problem with my existing spokes. Also, I think I like the WTB's better, so I picked out a few... http://www.wtb.com/products/frequency-team http://www.wtb.com/products/st http://www.wtb.com/products/laserdisc http://www.wtb.com/products/dual-duty Let me know what you think! Thanks!

It's a GT Karakoram. There were 3 levels, and I got the middle one. I'll try and figure out what the ERD's are... Thanks!

My original rim weighs under 500grams so I'm assuming the hubs pretty good... All my spokes were fine, and I thought is should lace right up, no? My hub is, well to be honest I have no clue... Logo looks very familiar though, maybe you know better than I? Maybe a Scott logo? Thanks, I really appreciate the help

Local pickup only... It's on the other side of Canada do you know of any mainstream online bicycle stores based in Canada? Kinda like Rocky Mountain or Motorsport? Thanks!Edit: Found one that looks reliable... Even if it looks like it was made in the 90's lmao. Let me know what you think. http://www.canadabicycleparts.com/

Yes that's what I am looking for... Actually exactly the one I was looking at, or maybe a 51 vs 31... Anyway close enough. Any chance you know any Canadian retailers? Duties kill. Also I'm feeling good so I'll share what happened. It was my first time on a mtb all year, having been on my dirt bike 3 times already. I was lining up for a way too big whip off a way too small jump due to the change in weight from mx to mtb. Anyway landed front heavy quarter sideways. I guess that most rims would have bent like that. Anyway some Canadian retailers would be great. Thanks.

For something like rims I'd much rather new... My plan is to spend around $100 but idk if that's even possible... I really need some direction for this. I know mx, not really mtb. Thanks guys.

I think you get the idea... Looking for rims, can't find anything under $300. That's a third of what I paid for the bike and I'm not willing to put that down. What's a decent rim that I can replace this one with? It's an Alex MD19. Came off a GT Karakoram. I'm pretty pissed off how easily I broke my $1000 bike... Sorry if I'm coming across rude. Thanks guys.
