  2. I did a search on fork guards and it was mentioned that the XR 400 Fork/Disk Guards will fit the XR 650R in one post. Does anyone have any experience with this, I would like to know for sure that it will work prior to ordering them.

    xr650R Smog pump IMS

I uncorked my xr with out doing the smog block kit, and the bike ran really lean and popped at high rpms and in deceleration. All that was fixed with the block off kit. The smog block kit is a necessity in uncorking the California model. I think I got so frustrated at removing it, I actually took bolt cutters to the little pipes so I could get the wrench in there -- Chad

    just fitted edelbrock

I havent installed mine yet, just came in the mail, but I thought the whole point of the edelbrock carby was not the performance as much as the ability to start the damn thing after dumping it over, or the stalling on a hill and all that fun stuff you experience with the stock carb.

    Jawbone to Randsburg

I was looking at the route chart for the jawbone to ransburg ride, it seems vague about where to get gas from the lunch stop (general store) and I am not familiar with that area, how do I get to the nearest gas station and and is it legal to ride my non licensed (green stickered) bike to the station? Thanks -- Chad Peters

Great, thanks for the info and the pictures. I did email them a couple of days ago, no response, maybe I will have to give them a call. Thanks again -- Chad

    Fitting Devol Rad Guards

I am having trouble fitting the devol rad guards on my xr 650r. I dont quite understand how the brace goes and the guard on its own just is not a clean fit. Can some one who successfully mounted these on their xr take pic or two and either post it here or send it to my email at chadapeters@yahoo.com Thanks-- Chad

Question about the right footpeg fix

All I know is even when the bike was new the bolts loosened every ride, and I feared it was just a matter of time before I snapped it, and losing a peg at speed just does not like fun to me. I did Kritter's fix as well, and it works great, and 1/2 the price of PC's fix, cant go wrong!

    01 650r Holdover Price!!!

That is a great deal. I have a dumb question though. Last summer when shopping for my BRP, I had a chance to buy a 02 for a couple hundred less than a 03. (this was in August of 04) I bought the 03 because I was concerned about how long the 02 had been sitting, as far as the seals and other parts that have been sitting for approximately 3 years, in your case approximately 4 years. So, upon buying a brand new bike that has been sitting for 3 or 4 years, is there anything you do differently then a brand new bike that was built within a year or two of purchase?

    uncorked 650 jetting woes...help!

My 650r is having similiar symptoms, if it is not warm then it will die at low rpms, and it pops when going from high to low rpms. It is pretty new, I only have 60 miles on it since I uncorked it, and 40 miles before that. I live in southern california, typically race at above 1000 ft in warm temp. I am using a B53E needle at the 3 clip and am running the stock pilot. Also, 175 main. If I change to the 68s pilot, will that richin it up a bit? When I get home tonight I am going to try the WD 40 trick, and if that does not work I will begin to play with the jetting. Any suggestions? Thanks -- Chad Peters
