Washington ORV to Idaho Plate conversion?

forgive my ignorance. Found a post with an informative link to another site.
  4. I have a 2004 KTM 450 MXC that used to have a plate on it, but our friends in Olympia decided that it would be in thier best interest to remove my plate! Thank you very much. So my question is this.....My father lives in Idaho, so I'm thinking that maybe I could convert my bike to an Idaho plate? Does anyone know if this is possible, or has anyone done this? How hard was it? He's lives south of Boise, so if I have to be present at that location, logistically it'll be difficult and time consuming, but worth it. Also, what would I need to do this? Lights, blinkers, etc? I've heard that Idaho is easier, but haven't heard what it takes. Thanks for reading, and I'm hoping I can make this happen.

    Mattawa conditions ?

Just an update for ya all. I just went up into saddle mountsins today (1/08)to give it a peek, and conditions looked great, other than a few areas with patchy snow and ice. (nothing ya'll can't handle I'm sure). But, I didn't get much of a look into the ravines. Anywhoo, should be a blast for anyone wanting to get in some riding/testing.

    going riding at mattawa/saddle mountain

The sensitive areas are for some kind of plant or herb. There is no sensitive beetle, sorry Slakkin!

+1 Saddle Mountains is an ORV park maintained by the BLM. There is however private land to the east of the park, that is POORLY IDENTIFIED.

    After-Turkey day ride at Mattawa?

You know......the BLM would love for some volunteers to step up and help to clean up, and repost sings for the area. (I'm an employee, so I'm pretty positive) I don't believe that there is any money set aside for the saddle mountains, so the BLM doesn't have anyone that can do the work out there. If you are serious about making the place better, I could set you up with the name of the recreation person at the office in Wenatchee. I'm sure she would be happy to supply signs and materials to re-post the closed gullies, and general pick-up of the area. Also, on a side note....there is a large number of private acres to the east of the open area, so be cautious of your location as you progress east out there. Not all of the property is posted, and the owner isn't happy about ORV'ers trespassing. If you'd like some contact info, (anyone) PM me, and I can see what I can do.
  11. SJMC_DON, my problem came from purchasing a WA plated bike, and then recieving a letter stating that I needed to have it inspected by the state patrol. The trooper who did the inspection told me that basically I was screwed. The bike didn't have the proper "standards" to be safe for highway use, (NTSB stiker? ***?) and no emissions equipment? Whatever!?!?! I love the bike though, it's great for the desert riding that I mostly enjoy, and hopefully the wife will let me have ...wait for it.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................2 bikes! HAHAHAHA
  12. shrub.......any tips on converting BACK to a plate? I had one revoked by the state after purchasing a bike that had a plate. My new title now says ORV in the vehicle class. It's an 04 KTM 450 MXC. PM me if you prefer that route.

    Sheriff Taking KTM Plates

Here's a link to my original post when I ran into the problem. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=473618&highlight=washington+plate+registration Basically, I got a letter from the DOL after I registered the bike statinig that I needed to have an inspection by the WSP. The WSP officer I had the inspection with said that he tried to allow the bike through, but since it didn't have the required sticker(s), that he couldn't pass it. If I remember right, I needed an emissions and NTSB sticker.
