    CRF150R loud ticking noise

Timing could be 180 degrees off. May try that first. Also, those cam stays (the half moon shaped pieces over the cam) must NOT be over torqued and one side must not be fully torqued before the other - will cause binding. Double check all your torque specs and retighten with a torque wrench. This is a must when working on any motor. You cannot go by feel.

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

Hell I wish I could get that to work when I was your age. If anything I got lowballed a lot just because they assumed I was young and dumb.

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

I would attribute it to that but I’ve been trying to sell it since summer

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

I am not. I’m in Indiana. But I can send you pics and info and if you can get me anything over $4500 I’ll still give you a hundred bucks.

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

Lol if you can find a buyer for my bike at $5000 I’ll PayPal you $100 no joke

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

And you think you could sell it for 5000 why?

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

Where are you getting “even more used” from? The bike is 4 years old. I said previously I was looking for a 4+ year old bike. And at 3800obo, 3500 would be about the price to sell. I’m not sure what you’re missing?

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

I think you’re the douchebag here for judging people based on the bike they ride and the type of riding they do. Do you have anything beneficial to add to this thread or are you just going to keep belittling people who don’t conform to your preferred bikes and riding styles?

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

I feel like modern 250s get a bad rap because of the early models though. Most modern 250Fs are actually pretty reliable compared to what they used to be. I had well over 100 hours on my 2014 YZ250F and the valves were still within spec and piston was fine. No loss of compression either. This seems to be the case with most other brands, too. I would have no problem buying a used 250F. I have done it before and I would do it again. I no longer see them as “ticking time bombs.” Now, a CRF from 2004 is another story. I wouldn’t touch one at any price lol.

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

Hell, I would rather the pros race two strokes. The racing IS more exciting. Although two strokes can rattle you to death in a long moto. I’m sure modern factory teams would find ways to overcome it though. I just don’t think they can compete with modern four strokes. If they were all two strokes, great. But if one or two factory guys was put on a two stroke against the current 450s I can’t see him doing very well. I’m sure he would be up there at the start of the Moto but I have no doubt he would begin to fade quickly. Four strokes are simply easier and smoother to ride. That’s a big advantage in a 30+2.

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

I believe you’re correct. I think I was thinking of the 350sxf just because it’s an oddball lol [emoji106]

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

Lol yeah on 03-05 4 stroke technology. With the bikes today, there’s no chance a rider could keep up. Yes you are so correct. Everything besides what you like sucks. End of story [emoji849]

    4 Stroke Resale Value?

I’m not arguing that at all, of course the better rider will win in that situation. But I would have to disagree about the past 25 years of evolution. Sure, bikes in the 70s were worlds different than in the 90s. But I think you may not be realizing how different bikes are today as well. More technology goes into the modern bike than we have ever seen. The shift two to four strokes, aluminum frames, suspensions upgrades- we have seen all this and more in the last 25 years. That seems pretty substantial to me.
