Damn! Its a little late now... but I would have loved to come! Gorsh, getting into the snow season now...got some last night up here. Are you a skier, also??
  3. You know...after installing my Big Gun, at first, I really didn't notice any different sound. But when I got on her...she was a bit snappier...I can now make loud popping noices to freak Llama's out and she just purrrrrrrs down the road and screams when I get on 'er!!
  4. Hey Guys, Well...this is my first trip to the North Forum!! I am a Nevada rider who was recently displaced approx. 2 weeks ago. To my dismay, there is not sand or washes and the fence situation is rather depressing up here. I'm reduced to riding back dirt roads. *deep sigh with a tear in eye* My pooooooor motorcycle...she sings the blues! But my current location is Red Lodge, MT...which is approx. 60 miles S. of Billings? Does anyone have any good suggestions for rides?? Have a truck and more than willing to travel...just need places to go! Help?

Well morgan, I have a bit of unfortunate news. Seems we are heading out to Montana sooner than later...heading out on Thursday, so I will not be able to attend the Fish Lake ride. I am SOOO bumbed...I LOVE LOVE LOVE this area for riding. Anyhoo...if you know anyone up in the Montana/Wyoming area who likes to ride, let me know...guess I'll try and cram in as much riding as I can before the snow flies and I have to garage her for the winter. God, that is SO sad...no motorcycle deserves to be garaged for an entire winter!!!!

    Pipe sound.

Got my pipes on last night. Man, what a [@#$%&*!] getting the two pieces together!! Sounds great...but not that much different. When I rev her, THATS when I can really hear the difference, revs pretty loud and clean. There IS a big weight difference between the two pipe systems, though. My guesstimate just by holding the two...I'd say a 4-5 lb. difference.

P.S. By the way... *grin* Morgan, since you happen to be in Parumph, I was wondering... Have you ever seen Art Bell and does he ride??

Have you ridden in Fish Lk. valley morgan?? It is ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Let me dig up a pic... But there is a hot springs there...the soaking tank is approx 104 degrees, then it flows into a shallow pond about waist deep...the pond is 86 degrees and there are goldfish living in there...then there are two other ponds there, aswell. That is where we have been teaching the 4 and 5 yr olds to ride their KDX50. The view of the White mountains are PHENOMINAL and my hubby enjoys taking his XR650L up to Boundary Peak...the highest summit in NV!

Mind if I come?? I will be the one with the black F-350 with Montana license plate with a toy hauler behind and 3 little boys chasing gold fish in the pond!

Any Biggun owners on the 230

Q: I am at about 4600 ft. and DEFFINATLY need a larger pilot...no question about that...the bike pops upon deceleration. BUT... Since you recommended a 45 to dude who was at 0-2000ft.. would a 48 work in my situation?? Thanks P.S. I might be taking her back up to Montana soon, the town I live in is 6656 ft. and riding elevations would be much higher than that...possibly even up to 9,000-10,000 in the Bearstooth mountains... any recommendations for THAT?? Heck, even I notice the physical breathing difference comming from my hometown elevation to the lower elevations of Nevada.

    Pipe sound.

You have a pipe sitting there RIGHT NOW with you and your on the COMPUTER!!! Come ON dude, where are your priorities?????? As is, I'm already foaming at the mouth watching for the UPS man, he should have been here YESTERDAY with my Big Guns, my bike NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDSS them!

Maybe the jetting??? Did any jetting recommendations come WITH the exhaust when you recieved it?? I shall be getting mine delivered to my doorstep ANY day now...and am curious about if the jetting may need re-tinkering after installing the pipe and headers?

    XR650L exhaust

FMF hmmm?!! I'll research that. Yeah...quiet is good, is more his style anyhow. His bike is big and bad enough that he doesn't need the pipes to sound all meaty like my little bike does! The search continues... this is fun browsing the web...just hardcore saddened there are no White Brothers to be found. I really would like to get him a quality pipe that will accentuate his bike nicely.

    confused about jetting.....

When I rejetted mine, I DEFFINATLY noticed that it pulled more through the gears instead of plateuing out before I shifted to the next gear. It seems happier and snappier!!
