    Baja Designs squadron on a 2014 450 xc-f

Is it possible to use a stator from a 500 exc on my 2013 450 xc-f? I'm in the same boat as many here, I want to run the squadron light. Also, is there anything else that needs to be done in order to run this light?

06 popping out of 5th gear

Well the link didn't bring me to a diagram but no matter. I see that I will have to do this work myself. I got a couple of quotes ($2k - $3k) for the work and thats out of the question so here I go. The motor comes out today. Will I need any special tools besides a puller? I have a service manual but if someone could post a link to exactly the suspect part that would be great. Thanks Andy

Yes, in fact, it is hard to find neutral. Especially after this started happening. What bearing is it?

06 popping out of 5th gear

Thanks for the reply gray. It sounds like you know what your talking about. So do I have to pull the motor and split the case for this or is it something I can do myself? Andy
  6. Hey guys. Havent posted in a while mainly because the bike has been perfect...until now. Let me preface by saying this bike gets used and used pretty hard. It has seen many supermoto track days, harescrambles, and most recently, wide open ice racing. However on my last trip to the ice, it was popping out of fifth gear (wildly inconvenient during a not-so-friendly, my-bike-is-better-than-yours, battle with a CRF). What gives? Any suggestions? I have been told its the shift fork wearing down. Can anyone confirm? Thanks Andy

Anyone register a motocross bike in CT

Very helpful and straight forward. I have everything I need EXCEPT for the certificate of origin. I bought the bike new but I cannot find that dam thing!! I have the bill of sale and copies of the COO but not the original.

Anyone register a motocross bike in CT

yeah that would be great. So my questions are: What did you need for paperwork? Just the certificate of origin? What did you use for a kit to make it street legal? How did the inspection process go? What would you recommend for someone trying to do it?
  9. Im looking for someone who took a motocross bike through DMV to get a street legal plate for it. I have some questions like the kit you used for lights and the process to get a title. Thanks Andy
  10. Hey guys. Im a bit stumped on getting my 06 YZ450 street legal. I did some searching on here and on the web in general and it seems I would need to get a bigger stator to power the lights and such. I don't want to do that. Also, here in CT, the lights and stuff need to work with the bike off. So can I just run a small battery (like a YTX5) and stuff it in the airbox to power a basic dual sport kit? I also need brake lights and a high beam so does the baja kit have those? Is there any alternative to the baja kit, in kit form? I have read about guys piecing stuff together to make this work but I can't believe there is not an all-inclusive, battery-operated kit on the market for a motocross bike. Thanks Andy

    Ultra heavy duty tube needed!

I'm still flattening these tubes all the time. I wish there was some good input on tubes here. I run the bridgestone ultra heavy's in my 450 and you can run them down to 5 psi no problem but they do not make one for a small rim. I am going to try the moose because they are advertised to be 3mm thick. The Maxxis heavys are +-1.5mm and stock chengshin are 1mm. I could try to run higher pressure but the traction is seriously compromised - I just need a good heavy duty tube!!!
  12. Look at you rippin the wheelie! When are you gonna get your a$$ out to Matt's?!? Andy

    Ultra heavy duty tube needed!

Hey guys I have a 110 thats well modded but I can't seem to find a tube that will hold up. I have tried the MSR (no different than stock) and run rim locks but the pressure on the tires/tubes from ice racing and motard seem to be too much. Does anyone make an ultra heavy duty tube for a 12 inch rim? I have had a bridgestone UHD in my 450 for years!
