  1. Thanks man I appreciate the advice and compliments. I re packed the silencer and rejetted the carb just the other night. I am hoping the rejecting will allow it to run better and stronger than it did before. I love this 2 stroke compared to my 4 stroke. Like you said when I was 4 strokin it I was definatly playing with it.The picture is me working on my bike. I don't have a garage so When it gets dark I am screwed!!ha

My 2005 CR250R is finally done...

Really?? I feel like an idiot. I have only ridden for about a year and have never had to change my handlebars till now. I just saw on the sizing that there are 7/8 and 1 1/8 bars. To clarify the 1 1/8 is just the thickness where the bar clamps are? And taper down to 7/8 at the grip portion?
  3. I hope this might help someone who doesn't have a manual yet. I hate life without mine but now that I have it I figure I will share the love!! Ps the stuff written in pencil is the conversion of foot pounds into inch pounds.

Is your two-stroke running rich? Read here.

I rode my 2004 CR250R today and not sure if I am to lean or to rich. I am sitting at about 2.5 turns out on the air screw and all my jets are stock. The main is 420 and the needle is 2 clips down from top but I don't know about the slow jet? So after riding as I headed back to the truck I ran it full throttle than killed it, costed to the truck removed the plug and this is what it looks like. Any suggestions? I am riding around 5000 feet elevation.
  9. I recently bought a CR250 and have rode it a few times and it seems like it is running decent. My question is what size of jets should I put into the carb? I don't know if I am to lean or to rich?? I honestly can't tell and this is my first bike. I will make slight adjustments on the air screw and feel like it makes no difference? I live at 5000 feet if that will help with jetting suggestions. As well I am ordering a new sprocket today and wondering what you all like best? I am 220 pounds and mainly ride single track with some desert riding. Currently I have a 13/50 and it seems pretty good but I am wishing I had a little more top end. As well my power and doesn't feel like it has a huge hit and I am wondering if that is a jetting issue or maybe it's a good thing? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!

    Carb dumps fuel

As well you could possibly have a bad o-ring on your seat valve causing gas to leak through when you don't want it to. Good Luck. If you were able to fix it let me know how you did it

    Carb dumps fuel

2004 CR250 manual specifies that the float level should be set at 7.5mm I only know this cause I just adjusted mine.

    Re-packing and cleaning silencer

I just bought a 04 CR250 and I am pretty sure that the prior owner never cleaned the pipe. It is a FMF shorty. Is there a packing I am suppose to buy when I clean it? Or do I just take it apart and simply clean it off with cleaner and brush than put it back together? Sorry don't mean to intrude on your thread

2004 CR250R Carb Rebuild Kit question

My 2004 Cr250 is doing the exact same thing. I went through the carb and set the float to spec measurements 7.5mm figuring that would fix it and nothing.... So i imagine i will need to tear it down and put in a new valve seat and valve float. Hoping that solves my issues. Thanks for the post
