OK, so here's the question. I stumped. I'm working on a 2005 CRF250R.
I've put a few bikes together, but this one has me completely stumped.
I can't get the bike to start. It has the following combination. All new parts.
2005 2 PC intake valves
2005 2 stock exhaust valves
2005 stock cam
2005 PC valve springs
2005 JE high compression piston
It is in time, it is in time, and it is in time.
It has a really hard spot to kick @ the top of the stroke. It makes a very loud clunk and
you have to stop the kick and then start again. Here's what I've done to this bike.
Note: I have a 2005 CRF250R and have tons of spare parts, so I've been able to
swap out and try a lot of things.
Changed out the auto decompressor,
Spark plug (it's getting a very good spark)
Cleaned carb, I went through it inspected all the jets and even put in a new pilot.
It's getting fuel and has good compression.
The valves are set correctly and the head is not leaking (all new parts, but checked anyway).
Piston is in correctly and rings are correct.
I don't understand why it has that hard clunk @ the top of the stroke. I'm thinking this is
the culprit as to why it won't start, but I can't for the life of me figure it out.
