  1. I changed my Crank Seals in my 1983 CR480 yesterday. After I completing the job I found a weird washer on the floor in my shop. I am not sure if it goes in my motor.

    I had Eric Gorr do a compression release button on the head. My wife can now start it !
  3. I built a 1983 CR480 for ARMA racing. It was a full frame rebuild. I raced it in one national and feel the rear suspension needs some help. I am currently running Race tech springs and emulators on the front and back. Does anyone know about the Simon Link? I hear it changes the ratio so the Mid stroke is softer. I am trying to figure out what Spring rate I will need if I buy this and if anyone has tried it. Any help is welcomed-

    Calling all Showa A-kit owners

    I ran across this old thread and thought I would share this- My A kit has wider CNC lower lugs. The titanium Axel is at least 1 inch wider then stock. This along with good triple clamps keep the front and end planted straight at all times. When I crash my stock practice bike I usually need to straighten the front end because the front wheel is not aligned with my handle bars. The A kit set up keeps everything straight. Look at the difference in the picture below :

  12. My Stock head signed off a little to early. GYTR head ripped more on top- With the GYTR boot it really ripped on top.

    GENERAL INFORMATION Enzo Racing offer performance upgrading coatings to the inner and outer tubes to reduce frictions. Using specific surface treatments for steel and aluminum, the side load frictions is reduced dramatically. Both of these surface treatments are used by Factory YAMAHA and KAWASAKI teams. For the outer aluminum tubes we offer KASHIMA coating which is a proprietary treatment offered only in Japan. KASHIMA coating is a very hard and low friction treatment applied to aluminum and is used by many factory teams. Enzo Racing offers high level KASHIMA coating treatment to stock front fork outer tubes. For the steel inner tubes, we use DLC (Diamond like Carbon) treatment. This is easily identified by its black color. This treatment comes production on the '07/'08 KXF450. DLC coated inner tubes greatly reduce the friction, which provides smoother action over sharp impacts and overall performance. The DLC coating is also harder and smoother than the standard chrome, and resists nicks from stones that can create sharp dings in the surface which in turn damages the oil seals that can turn into leaks. Included in the cost we also offer hard anodizing to the axle brackets.

  16. The above posts cover a lot of good information. Some A kit forks also use wider lower axle lug. Here is a picture of my stock lugs against my A kit wide CNC lugs. They are so much wider then the stock lugs a wider axle bolt is required.
