    ktm starting upgrade kit

Thanks. Where did you connect the ground to the engine?
  2. Has anyone seen or tried this. See link below. http://www.ebay.com/itm/KTM-525-EXC-Starting-Upgrade-Kit-/150510767018?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item230b240baa I have a 2004 KTM 525 EXC (plated) and it starts fine when it is warm but when it is cold I usually have to help it with a kick or two. I have a lithium battery, valves are adjusted correct and my jetting seems in the ballpark. Any thoughts on this starter kit?
  3. Thanks for the reply's. I just ran it to the battery with an on/off toggle switch. I have a lithum battery and I am hoping the amount I turn it on it should not be a problem when I try to start my bike. Thanks again!
  4. Bump^^^^^ any electricians that can clarify this for me.

    MX in Germany

I lived in Germany 7 years (1991 - 1998). And that was seven years of not riding dirt bikes. I had to go to the next best thing, mountain biking. When I looked into riding it was join a club and motocross track only, I am not a track guy. If I was to move there again I would see maybe to get into trails. My wife is German by the way, that is why I lived there. You will enjoy the beer, food and people but the winters are cold! Viel Spass!
  6. Question on this mod. I noticed that on the bridge rectifier the AC is grounded to the frame, is this ok? Also it does not look like the DC is grounded. Is the AC ground to the frame a common ground for the AC and DC? Just want to make sure I am doing this correct. Thanks in advance!

Just bought a used 2004 KTM 525 EXC

Just bought the hub from KTMTALK. Thanks for the heads up. I did confirm the other pipe is a Dr.D, I sent a picture to Dubach racing. I am going to put it for sell on e-bay. The question is, the canister fit perfect and the header to motor fit perfect but the mid frame/exhuast mount is off by about an inch. It was mounted on the bike with a small (homemade) metal bracket, the pipe mid mounting is about an inch forward. Does anybody know which KTM this would fit? I want to put it on e-bay with the correct description. Any help is much appreciated.

$100.00 for a complete wheel would perfect. Even if it was a 19" rim, I have no problem re-lacing the hub to my 18" rim. I am still looking every day.

Yeah, I got an eye for the hubs. Looking every day. I found out the one pipe is a Big Gun.

I know that KTM run the chain a little loose, since I have the bike apart I will install the swing arm with no shock and adjust the chain and check the wheel travel for future reference on chain tension. As for how it the cracked hub and how it happened, I am not sure, the previous owner did not mention it. It looks like the pipe is a Big Gun. I will get the parts from them hopefully, they are local. I went from a 426F to 250F and I am know back on a Big Bore. I will miss the light weight of the 250F but can not wait for the torque. Still looking for a hub, anyone? Thanks.

Just bought a used 2004 KTM 525 EXC

I am trying to find out if anyone knows what type of exhaust this is so I can get a end cap for it. Trying to keep costs down. I wish it came with the stock KTM exhaust, those are excellent. Also looking for a rear hub. Thanks!
  12. This is the second KTM I owned, the first awhile back a '85 KTM 250MXC. I have been riding Honda's and Yamaha's since. I am very happy to be back on Orange. I got this bike for a great price but new I had to put a lot of elbow grease into it, previous owner neglect. Oh, most important it is plated. After tearing it apart it has a couple of issues. First the rear hub is cracked (see pictures). Does anyone know where I can get a used one or does anyone want to part with one that is sitting around? I have check on ebay, craislist and KTMTALK, with no luck. Second, does anyone know what hind of exhaust this is (see pictures), there is no ID on it. I need to get a end cap/quiet tip for it -there is not one on it. I think it is a Big Gun or an FMF. The swing arm and lower shock bearings are shot and will replace. The bike was not treated very well by the previous owners but it has found a good home. http://s765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/?action=view&current=IMG_20110629_215313.jpg http://s765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/?action=view&current=IMG_20110629_213817.jpg http://s765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/?action=view&current=IMG_20110629_213817.jpg http://s765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/?action=view&current=IMG_20110626_004158.jpg http://s765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/?action=view&current=IMG_20110626_004213.jpg

    Rear Brake Master Cylinder Question

I have 2001 YZ250F and put on a 2009 rear master cylinder that I bought off e-bay brand new for $5.00. I had to do a small file job one one of the counter bored holes. It took about 2 minutes, very little material needed to come off. Mine was a tight fit but it work great. See picture below. http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/Rear%20Brake/DSCN1665.jpg http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/Rear%20Brake/DSCN1664.jpg http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx294/ninetoe/Rear%20Brake/DSCN1666.jpg
