New water pump install quick question...

Any tips in install of new pump? Should I lube the assy to get it in the case?

New water pump install quick question...

I'm assuming you've purchased a new assembly and it worked as-is? Think I should avoid f-ing with it and bolt it up?

New water pump install quick question...

Has anyone RTVd their new water pump?
  6. I just purchased a OEM water pump assy that came fully assembled (awesome!). Not sure if anything has improved over the years or if the impeller should still have the RTV mod done to it? I do have a bunch of the red high-temp RTV I used to seal my water pump on my F250. Can I use it or buy another type? I'm heading to Death Valley in less than 2 weeks. I need a 1 time flawless install that holds coolant!

Camp and Ride in Idaho Mid-June '15. Advice?

Thanks for the replies guys! Still looking at doing Winom-Frazier OHV/Dualsport combo trip. Snow ain't shit here in Oregon. Mt Bachelor (6300' base) is reporting a mere 28" of snow as of April 30th. 70 and sunny here in Bend through the weekend, with no real precip anytime soon. Overall, I feel pretty good about my chances in Oregon. Normally, June in the NW is reserved for desert trips.
  8. Thanks guys. I was looking into a cost effective way to clean it up. If it's gonna be expensive, I'll just save up for a full system.

Thanks! Camping is half the fun! So, maybe a trip to the McCall area may be in order.

    Portland area riding?

    Oh snap! I stand corrected!
  11. It almost seems like saving up for a full MRD would be better than ponying up $250-350 just for the muffler and mid-pipe. FMF's cheapest is $250 and would likely have to have a pro do some finish work.
  12. Years back, I purchased a Yosh RS3 for my S. It was the smaller diameter header version (My buddy's E RS3 header is thick!) that tapered into a larger pipe by the time it hit the silencer (if that makes sense). The header and mid-pipe are fine. Just looking to replace the silencer. -Will all cans have the same entry diameter as my RS3? If not, I could prolly have an exhaust shop fab a connector. -Best power/flow? I have the 3X3 and FCR39MX too. -Not too worried about noise. Thoughts?

Word! So, high country isn't really gonna be an option. Based on that, what is our best option? How's the snowpack up north? Isn't the upper panhandle lower in elevation?

    Portland area riding?

Yep. If you make the 3-3.5 hour drive from Portland, there are nearly 500 miles of trails in one area to the ESE of Bend, OR. Plenty of fun to be had on a long weekend away from PDX. Seems like if you wanna ride in the Portland/Vancouver area, you're driving at least an hour to get somewhere.

If you live and ride in Oregon, you'll need a Oregon OHV permit. $10.50 for 2 years. Plated or not. Titles are not required on straight-up dirtbikes. So, get a sticker and ride! I'm not familiar with that neck of the woods but, official OHV areas can be found in the mountains to the west AND east. I'll let the locals chime in on that part.
