    14 and up airbox discovery

Much appreciated. Yeah, I have also not heard of any negative feedback. Think I will given them a shot. I've heard the graphics need trimming. Where can a get a set of "stock looking" rad only graphics. Having all blue will look a little weird I think.

I am really debating buying the cyrca shrouds as well for my 250F. Did you notice any performance gain? I am told these engines respond well to changed airflow. I also wouldn't mind a few mm off of the width...

    Bar mounting options - 15' YZ250F

Can you tell me if its only changing the cockpit feel? Is there some other feel that comes along with doing this. Been in the stock position for 2 years now. Also, did you flip the bar clamps 180 degrees? Or just move the whole thing forward? The clamps are slightly offset too.

No pressure build up in forks

So a natural bleed? lol Guessing its something to not worry about if its not causing any noticeable issues?

Thanks! I have to agree with your comments on the bike too. Hard to be too far forward on this thing.

No pressure build up in forks

Quick quesiton. I have a 15 YZ250F, and for some reason one fork just stopped building air pressure after riding. Its been many rides now, nothing seems off either. Its even had the oil changed twice now. Given the design, seems weird considering everything is in "working" order. Any help would be great.

    Bar mounting options - 15' YZ250F

Thanks for the info. I am 6" and 190lbs. I have a little longer arms than most I think. lol Too bad your settings are going to be so different with the revalve. I also prefer stiffer suspension. My old YZ250 just feels so plush with stock valving and stiffer springs. Still searching for a good base setting. I would like to run more sag, but dont want to lose the weight I have in front, thats why I am kind of anxious to try this. Also, My arms just feel more relaxed in this position. I finally found a good chassis balance that I like. The bike turns well now, but I need more rear bite. The settings also dont translate well across varying types of terrain. So I think I still have a lot of work to do. I will be sure to post my results. I should be able to go riding tuesday next week.
  9. A quick question. I noticed this weekend that there are two sets of mounting holes for the bar clamps to sit in the top tripple clamps. I am a taller guy, and usually use bar risers for previous rides. They didnt really feel right on this bike, so I have been running without them. I moved the bar forward tonight to see how it feels, and at first sit, its a very good position for me. With my suspension setup, I do like the idea of being more forward on the seat more often with some changes I want to make to the setup. So... 2 questions. 1. I looked in the manual, and it mentions nothing about these other mounting options. In fact, its very specific to the existing setup. So, is it actually an option? Also, I did not turn the bar clamps around, just moved them forward. So does that mean that there are 4 possible setups? 2. Aside from the obvious of being more forward, has anybody tried this? How did the feel change? I am interested since the bars are technically forward center of the top clamp. Would impacts/jump faces feel different? If so, how? Small adjustments feel massive to me on the track. Not to all, but me. I am pretty excited to try this one out though.

    15' YZ250F Seat Cover suggestions

Thanks for the feedback guys. To be more specific though, the top grip, stiffness, or even comfort isn't he issue. I am on the pegs whenever possible, and that's why the side grip to the bike is my main area of focus. I am holding on way too much with my arms to compensate for the lack of grip with my legs. With that said, the post earlier about the side grip seat...I may check that out.
  11. I have a 2015 YZ250F, I absolutely love this bike, except for the fact that for some reason, I cannot seem to get solid grip on the seat with my legs I am used to. I remember reading an article (early 2015) that one of the test riders complained about this as well on this model. My old WR, and pretty much every other bike I have owned, I have not had this issue. I added the acerbis X-grip guards, and that helps at the boot area, but I still am all over at the seat. I used to be able to squeeze with my legs, and stand up on a bike stand, and lean all of the way forward and backward with no hands. If I did that now, I would fall off the damn thing. Need to get this resolved. I am willing to try maybe a new seat cover, but wanted to know if anybody else has had this issue. I am 5"11, 190lbs. Also, I do wear knee guards, not braces, under my pants. This issue was there long before I started using them though. I also dont want to use grip tape since it wears out fast, and also tears up your gear pretty good. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Undesirable? Not at all. Curious more or less. And honestly, no, I'm probably not riding the bike as hard as others. Just want to keep my bike in good condition, and if that means an early replacement for a few parts, vs trashed engine, then that's fine for me. Sounds like guys are doing well with 75-100hrs. So I will probably just do the same.

True. Completely agree. But that's also why I watch what changes the manufacturer makes/recalls year over year. For example. The attached article speaks to quite a few internal changes on the 2016, including a "new heat treating" process on the rod. There were some changes 14-15 as well. There are a few kinks in every new design that you just cannot account for. Maybe this is one of them? But that's also why I am asking for some feedback since these have been out for a couple of years now. I have personally seen two 250F's grenade at the track. Granted, I can't tell you how they maintained their bikes, but I have only seen 2 do this in about 5 years. Both were newer YZ's. Then again, "new" isn't always better. So maybe it's worse now. Lol. Just getting info. http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/yamaha/2016-yamaha-yz250f-review.html

good to know the overall lubrication is good. I'm probably more concerned with connecting rod strength actually. Heard some bad stories. Except you don't find out that's "worn". Lol. It either is working or its broke.
