    Paging Dr. Mark

The only problem with that is both surgeries were done by different Dr's, one by Delpizzo at SCOI and the other at LAOI. Can shin splints be higher up the shin near the top of the bone. Both legs have the same exact pain. I know the one at SCOI they used 3 holes in the knee and the other they only used 2 if that makes a difference. I find it hard to believe that both surgeries, 2 years apart and by different Dr's were both botched the same way, coincidence, I don't know, I'm not the expert.

    Paging Dr. Mark

I got a question for you. I have had medial meniscus repair on both my knees (arthroscopic), the last surgery right at a year ago. I will admit I have neglected my body, especially in the last year and got about 20 lbs overweight. I decided to get back in shape #1 because I need to and #2 I want to try out again for the sheriff's dept. I have lost 10 lbs in about 2 1/2 weeks and starting running again. After about 2 weeks of running around a mile a day I started getting pain from the knee area on both the knees. I thought this was normal at first, then the pain started to migrate down my shins slightly. The pain is identical to shin splints but higher up the shin. The pain starts at the top of the tibia on the inner horn and travels down about 3 or so inches. It is sore to touch and I cannot even think about running right now because of the pain. I traded off running for riding the bike to give them a break but I need to get back to running. My question is, is this just "normal" shin splints? Or is it due to the knee surgeries? I have had shin splints before, just not this high up the shin. I have gone easy on them for about a week now but they are still very painfull. Should I give them time? See a doc? Give up on running? Thanks for any info, Jon

    Snowing in the AV

That pic was taken just south of Ave S in palmdale. I went out to try and fill my A31 tag for deer with no luck. Tried till about 9:00 then grabbed the shotgun to try and bag a few quail but they were all hunkered down in the snow and I did not bring my dog with me since I was mainly going for deer. Although the coyotes were out in force. There were fresh tracks everywhere just never saw them.

Snow? We did not get no stinking snow in the AV. Went out hunting sunday morning, too dang cold for riding. It was around 25 with 20mph winds.

Any trail riding in the Port Angeles/Sequim area?

I'll keep it in mind. It is definately on our "list" of places to move. Already have the job thing figured out, just need to figure out housing and how much we will make off of our place. It won't be for 6-12 months so I'm just checking things out right now.

Any trail riding in the Port Angeles/Sequim area?

I will definatley miss jawbone and will for sure miss blasting down the sand washes in 5th pinned. I love the riding out here, but hell, I love riding period. I'm just worried about schools. My daughter goes into middle school in 2 more years and the middle and high schools are getting bad. Especially up here. They pretty much have two gangs, blacks vs. hispanics. My wife's cousin's have kids in the middle schools, they are hispanic and are really good, quiet kids. 3 of them got jumped last year for no reason, just because they are hispanic. It is just getting rediculous up here. My family's welfare comes 1st so we decided to start looking. Plus I could use a little slower paced lifestyle.

Any trail riding in the Port Angeles/Sequim area?

We are looking to set up residence. We have narrowed it down to Sequim area or the Twin Lakes area of Arkansas. I know, two completely different places, but I have family in both and like it in both places.

Very cool. Glad to hear. I can now add it on my list. It's getting narrowed down but it is still a pain to decide to where to move to.Thanks for the input. Jon

Any trail riding in the Port Angeles/Sequim area?

I saw a couple in the sticky at the top of the forum but it was only like 30 miles or so total. That would get boring in about a week or so. Just wondering if there were some more that were "off" the map.
  11. The wife and I are looking to get out of the wonderfull state of California. Sequim is on our list of options and I was wondering if there is any decent trail riding in the area. I have young kids and am not really interested in tracks so I was just checking to see if there is some good trail riding and any places to take the kids. Thanks, Jon

    Terrorist at the race track

Sorry to hear what happened but I think if it was unmixed fuel, the piston would have seized in the bore long before too much bottom end damage was done. Possible operator error, possibly something was not assembled correctly during the last rebuild or even better yet, possibly bad luck? I just don't see someone pouring straight gas in a bike. And by the way, what kind of bike did this digruntled person ride? 2 or 4 stroke? would have a reason to even have straight gas around. I know when I rode smokers my fuel got mixed when I filled the cans at the gas station and I never had straight gas where we were, just food for thought.

Any good riding on the big island of Hawaii?

I pm'd TC and a few others, we'll see what they have to say. Timfurryballs said they have a big H/S race there every year, so they have to have soemwhere to ride there. I just don't want to get there and Find out they have one 20 mile trail on the whole island and that is it. That would get boring.

Any good riding on the big island of Hawaii?

Thanks Bryan. I posted in the Southwest forum as well but it is not too busy in there.
  15. The wife and I are kicking around moving out of socal. Her father lives in Kona and we think it is nice there so it is on the list of choices. Is there anwhere to ride on the island that is halway decent? I mainly do trail riding and really don't care for tracks. I know there is good riding on Kuai from some of TC's posts but I have not heard much about the big island and a search has not turned up very much. Still checking out employment and housing but riding will play a big factor in it for me as well. Thanks, Jon
