    385cc Big Bore

    Only thing I know about this kit is, if you go with the 385 that's as big as you can go before having to re sleve the engine. Also there is no room for error with how thin the sleve will be. It has to be bored perfectly straight. It definitely adds low and mid range torque. Not much on the top end if an at all. I have this kit on my bike and I haven't had an problems with it yet, been running it for a couple years now. I do know it's a one and done sort of deal. Its definitely all the power I would ever need.

    I'm not sure. The rear sprocket that was on there when i bought it was a 46. Then I changed it to the 41. I had a 44 in between those two as well. I may go back to the 44 though. The 41 is ok for off road but I think the 44 may be a little better.

    No company in particular. I think I'm running a 15/41 but i do a little bit of road riding. Even with that set up Its not bad in the woods at all. As for what sprocket to get, that' up to you but I run a steel sprocket. It' a woods bike not an MX bike.

    Cartridge Forks. They are the good ones. The other kind are call Dampenng rod.

    The forks have goldish bodies (at least they use to be) and they have compression and rebound adjusters like this.

    First you have to find out what you have (Dampening Rod or Cartridge Forks). They are great bikes. I bought mine about 4 years ago as a gift to myself at the age of 37. Other than the initial ironing out of 19 years of wear and tear (which honestly wasn't that bad) i haven't had an problems. Im not an expert on these bikes, I just know what mine has. Im currently in the process of doing my suspension or should i say having it done. I found a local shop to do the work and set it up specifically for me. I know I could rebuild the forks and shock my self but I don't have all the years of experience these guys do and I want that peace of mind knowing it was done right. Only thing is it cost close to what I paid for the bike in the first place. If I had the funds to buy a newer, faster, lighter, bike I would but the reality is I don't.

    I have one and it dose both on and off road but I dose off road alot better.

    1996 dr 350 (kickstart) question

    You can remove the bolt without any problems. When I first got my bike it kept popping out of gear ( long story short) the shift drum bolt came loose, no it didn't, it snapped off inside the shift drum. It could not be drilled out without damaging the shift drum. I found a used shift drum and sent it to Jessie and had the larger bolt upgrade done, end of story.
  11. I just figured they were both street legal. I would use the WR250R for the dirt. Im not a big jumper so it would suit me just fine. I guess if your gonna be hitting big jumps you might want a bike built for that.
  12. Just buy two bikes. One for street and one for dirt. DRZ 400SM AND the WR250R.
  13. If it were me I would go for the DRZ 400, KTM 350 or WR250R. Big price difference between the three though. Thats gonna play a part in it as well. Whats your price range, also what kind of riding experience do you have? I have a 99 DR350 that I bought 4 yrs ago for $1100. I am also 230lbs and it pulls me around just fine.
