That's the one that Ron put on my bike yesterday, it fit fine, he said you just had to push it up a bit further than where the stock one sat...bolted right up. He said he can post a picture if anyone needs it...

I ride with EVS braces, I like them and they prevent the twisting movement that is likely to re-damage my knee. Took a little to get used to them but now I don't even notice they are there. With the XT being narrower it's even easier to grip with them. Seems lots of people are getting their bikes now...and doing little things to make them "custom"...mine got a spark arrestor today, still working on a shifter solution but think we have that handled too.

I got to spend a little time on Saturday getting to know my new bike.... WOW! I am pretty sure that Beta made the bike for me and it just happens to work really well for a bunch of the rest of you! I am 5'9" and I fit on this bike perfectly, sitting or standing it just works. I was a little concerned (as was my husband) about the larger motor and my lack of experience, however I was immediately comfortable. A little running around in the parking lot and I had a handle on how the bike would react, really smooth and that was perfect for me. Everything about it is so much better than my 230 that it's really hard to put it all in words but I had a fantastic time trying things out. I found it really easy to balance and turn, the lightness truly made a difference for me. I also found that it tracks really well...especially in mud... We have to do some mods to the shifter as it's a bit too high for me but can't go lower in it's current state because it hits the frame, working on a solution. Suspension seemed fine set the way it was but then I'm no expert on that since my 230 doesn't have much...time will tell. The seat was a bit hard for my liking but I'm going to take some advice from Oldgrunt and wait a while before I do anything...maybe I just need a tougher butt! Anyway, I can't wait for the Shelton Poker Run to really get a chance to see what I can do. This weekend will be open riding in Spokane, looking forward to that as well.

Hey, we have a 5.1lb package coming from FMF too! Only I have a shiny new XT to put it on....will still get the TurbineCore 2 when that arrives at Frank's but in the meantime it will be good to be legal.

You're 8 miles ahead of me! Picked mine up this evening and hope to get some riding in this weekend. Got mine at Frank's too, excellent to deal with and a big thanks to oldgrunt for recommending him!! First impression from just sitting on it....perfect! I fit on it nicely, just the right seat height and the size of the bike is good in standing position too, small adjustments to fit perfectly will be all it needs I think.

I'm in there too...I don't need to go fast in the desert. I need something lighter, shorter and with better suspension that what I have been riding and the XT fits that bill. It's really hard to go fast on twisty, rocky, rooty, slimy trails (unless of course you are on your backside with the bike chasing you... ) I plan to ride it as is, adjust it to fit me and add hand guards and spark arrestor, the latter so that I don't inadvertently start a fire while riding thru puddles up to my knees....

Well we both got beat by a guy in Spokane who got his today... I agree we should get know each other, we ride Tahuya mostly during the winter as we do the vintage racing stuff during the summer. I'm picking mine up in the evening after work, around 6 or so, not sure when you will be there but probably won't wait til that late to get it!

Agreed! We all have such different riding terrain and abilities that it will give a really good picture of what the bike is capable of...

Pretty sure this is going to be a VERY long 2 weeks! Went out to Tahuya 2 weeks ago for a short ride...was really wishing I had it then....

Just found a facebook post from Stillwell Performance....Morgans bike is lowered (guess who did it???) The 300rr would be an option but I still want the XT.

From what we are seeing here the docks are calling for workers and the union won't send them, ships are being unloaded at a snails pace so they shut down unloading for the weekends because the shippers don't want to pay overtime for less work. Negotiations are stalled it seems...I can see the ships anchored for the Port of Tacoma, some have been at anchor for about a month now, it's crazy. Everybody is blaming the other person.... If this messes up delivery of the bikes I might just go down there and unload ships myself!! Just let me know which one they're on....

taosX5 - I too had never ridden until I took a class and got hooked! The TTR was my first bike...I didn't start riding until I was mid-40's so I am still quite new to it. I have ridden a CRF230 a couple of times as a rental in California, very similar to my TTR for weight, size and power. I am way too tall to comfortably ride a 150, I considered a TTR125 until I sat on it, very cramped for me. If I were 5'6" then it would probably be fine. Things I loved about the TTR as a beginner bike: really low first gear, hard to stall, E-start, bulletproof. I have outgrown it now so to speak, lack of suspension being the biggest issue for trail riding, it's also quite heavy so picking it up is a challenge (especially when it's upside down).... From what I understand the Honda 150 is more of a motocross bike as opposed to a trail bike so the performance will be different. Bottom line, depending on how tall the riders are a TTR (125/230) will be an excellent choice to start out on (just my opinion of course). Nothing wrong at all with the older bikes...my husband and I both are involved with vintage motocross so there are alot of older bikes in our collection! My lightwieght IT I referred to is a 1986, fun to ride but still lacks some of the things I'm looking for, and can get, in the XT.
