Nevermind. I am ordering the OEM seal, o-ring and bottom bearing.

All Balls Steering Stem Kit ?

On my Japanese bikes I always used OEM or SKF, Koyo replacements. I thought I would try these. I did ask the All Balls rep about the difference between the seal in the kit and what the OEM looks like and they said their seal on the bottom precludes the need for the setup like the OEM has with the o-ring around the outer groove. I remained unconvinced so I am ordering the OEM stuff. Since this kit says it is also for KTM and Husqvarna I will donate it to a less fortunate buddy who is stuck riding one of those. 🙂

All Balls Steering Stem Kit ?

Ok that settles it. I’m getting the OEM piece. Thanks very much. 👍

All Balls Steering Stem Kit ?

Thanks. The longer I look at this the more inclined I am to order a set of OEM seal and o-ring. I haven’t popped this off the original stem as I want to keep it intact but it looks like there is s metal spacer thing with a groove around it and the o-ring goes around the outside in that groove and then the bearing sits on top of the whole bunch. Is that what you had when you took it off?

All Balls Steering Stem Kit ?

Sorry to post outside my fork threads. I have All Balls kit 22-1026. Same kit for RR and XTrainer. Parts look a lot different than OEM. Any idea what goes where on the lower? This kit is also for KTM so it’s possible not all items are used. The big o-ring is too big to fit in frame without pinching over The little o-ring looks like a replacement for the one that was installed up topside, though it’s a smidge bigger. Then I have the two metal dust seals with rubber OEM diagram shows a seal then an o-ring, then the bearing as far as the lower bearing goes

They might be willing to press in the stem before shipping since they’re are taking the forks out and installing your springs. Would have to call I imagine.

Maybe it goes like this? Biggest seal, that little o-ring and then the bearing lol

This seems to make sense. Big rubber ring. Then the biggest dust seal. It’s hole fits tightest on the steering stem. Then the bearing. But I have this leftover piece to the right Maybe it’s not used on beta There was nothing like it up top edit; the big rubber ring is too big only way it will go in frame is to pinch fold one side 1/2”

I got the stem back from the shop. I have an all balls steering stem bearing kit. Part 22-1026. Same one for for RR and Xtrainer. I have bearing install tool. But. The dust seals, etc. look a lot different from OEM. Not sure what goes in what order before pressing on the bearing. OEM diagram shows a dust seal an o-ring then the bearing. But this kit is not quite the same. Pics.

I’m losing. Down 15 lbs and going. But yeah I went by the chart they had on the beta suspension site which listed as without gear and then cross referenced the All Moto Performance charts. It will be incentive to eat good until I’m squarely in the range of the .50 springs. 😀 215-220 will be about as light as I can get butt naked without looking like I have cancer https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/9deb4c_437efba1769248f9b29042e6f3b0b375.pdf

Day three of the wait for the steering stem and lower to come back. Lol. I thought it would be ready same afternoon or by next morning. I dropped it off thinking it would be quicker than getting a press and setup of that, etc. Interested to see how it is upon return from the local bike shop. Definitely getting my own press. In other news: I was incorrect when I stated that when you order the Boano conversion kit from betasuspension.com that they custom set them up based on the suspension info form you fill out. They install the springs you have selected but the forks are valved, etc. as they come from Boano. I don't think that's bad or anything. I got my new spring on the shock but discovered the upper bearing has a lot of slop. I don't like it. Replacing the bearing. That is all. Carry on.

Order (any) part direct from AOMC.mx

That's good news. I too was annoyed I can't just order some OEM bolts and stuff simply on like Rocky MTN, etc.

    Upper Shock Bearing Spacers

OK thanks man. OK thanks man. I will be a little more insistent with the "Persuader". 🙂

    Upper Shock Bearing Spacers

How do I get the spacers out? I have to change the bearing. I tried tapping inside on the the lip with a flat head but they didn’t move. Decided to stop before I dick it up. 👍 thanks
