DR650 died when applying throttle gear 1,2. Now not turning on

As for the fuel start by putting a cup under the float bowl and with the petcock on prime open the bowl drain and see if you get a steady " flow" of fuel. Check your air box for obstruction and check the secondary filter under the seat. I'm only suggesting this because the bike sat for so long and you haven't inspected the air filter anyway. If you have fuel and air then you still need spark. You can check that first if you want but being as the condition of your filters is unknown you should still check them. Once the troubleshooting is done it would be a good idea to do a complete service on the bike. Including valve adjustment. I just don't trust other people's word or work. I buy anything with an engine and I go through it end to end. Then I know when and how it's been done.

Also check your air filter and secondary filter under the seat. A mouse could have built a nest in the air box. Edit. I read this wrong. You've been riding it. Ok.. Still check and service those filters but not likely your problem. I did buy a DR once that the secondary filter had deteriorated and the carb was so full of dried foam that the bike would run fine for a while then just die.

    Dr650 carb screw broke

I have. The OP was asking how to perform a simple repair. Not how to improve the performance of his motorcycle or what to spend his extra $400 on.

Scrap the carb over a $3 repair?

    Dr650 carb screw broke

The idea isn't to put the JB Weld in the hole, and there will be no drilling. The plan is to repair and mend the break. I would NOT use a smaller screw and I would NOT JB the stock screw in the hole and make it impossible to remove. What I suggested will work if done properly, and the suggestion of installing a stud is a great idea. Repair the break first. Then install a JB coated stud. There is room for a lock washer and nut. Do this so you have a nice clean repair.

    Dr650 carb screw broke

BTW if you don't have a thread tap I would run the new screw in and back out of the hole while the JB Weld is wet then clean off the screw. Once the JB sets up the hole should be in good shape for the new screw.

    Dr650 carb screw broke

Diy fix just by the pic. Spray the damaged area with brake cleaner, blow it out or let it dry, force JB Weld deep into all the cracks, then see if you can put a miniature screw type ( worm drive) hose clamp around it and let it set up for 24 hours. At that point tap it out to clean up the threads. If you get a narrow enough hose clamp you could just leave it on and install the bracket.

Opening TT from Gmail or Google search

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Android 6.0.1 and the Tapatalk app from Google play store and it was last updated 1/29/2019
  12. From my Android Galaxy S5 Whenever I do a Google search and there are hits that show Thumper Talk as the forum for the results none of the links will open. Same thing when I get feed alerts in my Gmail. I tap it, the screen flashes but won't open the link. I always have Tapatalk open. Any ideas? Thanks
