    Acceleration Bogging 2016 RMZ 450

Lodewijk....thank you very much! All the parts to complete the top end should be here this week. I'll assemble it then. I have high hopes for this to be the cure because both intake valves were not seating all the way. One had a 15thousandths gap and the other a 10thousandths gap. Both at 10:00 to 3:00. The valve guides seemed to be misaligned. That needed to be fixed no matter what. I'm sure that's where the compression was going. However, it is highly possible the same symptoms will continue. I will do what you said and let you know. Thanks again!!!

Alright Speedman. Let us know. I'm very curious. Cool pictures. Yes you sunk up in some muck. Seems like every single time I ride like that, something mysteriously screws up. Good luck!!!

I did not. I tried everything imaginable to correct it. Nothing worked. So now mine is down for a rebuild as well. Just waiting for parts to arrive. I will let you know.

    Acceleration Bogging 2016 RMZ 450

Looks like we are back on. My update. Firing properly. I unplugged, cleaned, and greased every plug. Didn't help. I removed the fuel pump and tested it. It's good. I also reverse purged the injector. Still no change. I then checked the valves. They were in spec as well. Checked for exhaust leaks. None. I'm thinking the only thing left is the TPS which I just got the 12v power source today to check it with.

MUDKING, The plug is firing well. I kicked at no throttle, half throttle, and full throttle. I'm not sure if electronic wise, opening the throttle with the plug removed makes any difference but I tried it anyway. On to the connections. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.

Good idea MUDKING. I'll try the plug now and the connections tonight or in the mornig. I'll let you know on the plug in a few minutes.

OK, I replaced the spark plug. No good. Exact same symptoms. Could it possibly be the valves?

OK and thanks Mudking and BDubb! I did read when a plug gets wet it reduces insulator resistance. I think I worded that correctly.

Yes it was wet. Drying them doesn/t help?

    Acceleration Bogging 2016 RMZ 450

Hello, Two weeks ago I was trail riding on my 2016 RMZ 450 and ran through a big puddle. It wasnt deep but I had enough speed that it soaked me and the bike from the wave I made. Within 1 minute after, my bike would bog, doesn't go dead, just bogs upon hard acceleration like hitting the rev limiter immediately. It idles great. If I open the throttle slowly it does fine. Only quick acceleration causes the bog. Loss of power. No back firing. I drained the tank. The plug had a little water on it so I dried it. I checked the connections. I have started it several times since but it still does the same and the plug remains dry now. No water in the air box or on the filter either. I assume water came in through the header to cylinder connection. I need your help. Any other ideas. Water may not even be the problem. It may just be coincidental. Rev limiter? Thank you.

    1974 Honda TL 125 Motor

Yeah that's what I do too. I think I may be better off than I thought. I tore into the motor yesterday and the tranny and bottom end seem to be good. I was so relieved. Thank you NEKOOHC!!!

I'm needing a good motor for a 1974 Honda TL 125 I am restoring for my cousin. Any leads or are there alternative swaps? Thank you.
