    Engine dies when clutch released

Cheers guys! Still not working ..have correctly bypassed switches now with no luck...and on the same day realised that it's nothing to do with the clutch ...turns out it runs on tickover fine absolutely sweet ...go to give it any throttle and it's just stalling instantly ...i was lifting my revs when releasing clutch ...and assumed ...mother of all mistake as they say

    Engine dies when clutch released

Back again ...only just fixed my previous issues sighhh Cuts out as soon as clutch is released ...now I've tried bypassing my side stand switch and clutch kill switch I did this by disconnecting plug and joining the 2/3 pins together on the loom side of the plugs ...still dies I've got a constant earth going to my clutch kill switch but no live power ... This is also the same for my side stand switch ...both tested with ignition ON .. engine OFF. Anyone tell me what other checks I can do ..or how to correctly bypass the switches? Thankyouu

Also ....After checking my valves to find my timing had slipped ...And that a bolt had Broken in the head on its way out and my valves were leaking ..And basically having a thoroughly horrible time It all went back together ...Leaked at the head ....All back together again without a leak ...And IT WHEELIES ...Shame on me for not checking sooner but I'm a happy chap for now !

I can't help but wonder if it was a accidental find ..Or one of them where you are just fed up of taking the cams out over and over I doubt it knowing of his capabilities but would be a funny story

    Klr 600 timing

@Beezerboy Thanks Dude! That picture was taken with the T showing on the correct stroke! So it's slipped a fair bit. I did actually take the valve clearence measurments while in the same position IN1 - 0.9 IN2 - 0.13 EX1- 0.35 EX2- 0.33 I'm hoping by turning the cam and sprocket clockwise a few teath will put them back in spec! I've also ordered a klr650 cam chain tensioner and gasket as I've heard my 600 tensioner was a common problem with slipping timing So hopefully just whack that in and it will be fine! Thanks again

Oooo exciting stuff! Looking forward to reading all about it! I heard knocking your ex timing of by a tooth also gives a noticeable power upgrade! Maybe worth doing as your going all out!

    Klr 600 timing

Bike has jumped out of time. (See pic) Now I'd like to know where to start ..The best advice I've had so far is that it's probably the cam chain tensioner ...Been advised to replace with a 650 version as there automatic I believe. Is that what you'd all do ? 0... mark cam chain where it's sat on sprocket ... Probably not necessary 1... remove old cam tensioner ...2.Tie cam chain up (while on top dead center) ..3. alight camshaft sprockets so lines are straight ( turn them clockwise till lines straight) .4..Then drop cam.chain back down on them (counting links) 5..New chain tensioner back in ? Sorry just want to make sure everything is right , as I don't have a Manual and this is my first time doing timing!

    Bogging klr

Also when not bogging it seems to feel like it's.loosing power ... Persifically noticed this in 5th gear ? Lack of Compression cause bogging ..Though feels loads still when kicked.

    Bogging klr

Klr 600 bogs hard when throttle is opened fast ..Regardless of revs really. Seems not to happen when imideietly started ..Only when warmed after a minute. Put this in jetting section ..but this may well be a electrical issue I suspect.. as my I've not changed my jetting ect...Bike.was.running ok ...Then after a couple of long trips to Stafford then Crewe it developed this bog. Bike is a klr 600 b4 Plug has been changed ..Not gapped Plug cap changed HT lead changed Ignition coil changed Stator changed Main earth's cleaned Kickstand switch was cleaned not replaced. Carb stripped and cleaned no debris found. I'm left with pulse coil .. cdi ... hole in diaphragm maybe.. Maybe burnt valves or something similar?? As I've been running a fairly open pipe and filter ... Any other areas to look into would be appreciated.
