    Honda XR650L 2015

It's a 2016. A dirt bike you can ride on the street - what's not to love. Just wish the seat height was a little lower. Fun bike.

    xr650L won't start

I'm also ASSUMING (you know what that means) that since it started once, that the battery/starter relay/starter wiring connections are all nice and clean and OK.

Wish I was there with a multimeter to help you out. If the starter relay is clicking, then the kickstand/clutch switches should be OK. Either the contacts in the starter relay are not passing current to the starter, the starter is bad, or the brushes in the starter aren't making contact with the commutator. The latter is common to all starters when they start to go bad. Sometimes a tap with a 15-20mm wrench in the right place on the starter will jar the brush back into contact and get you going. Other than that, hard to troubleshoot via typing.

Rejet - A few seconds of hanging idle

I bought a 2016 XR650L about a month ago. I used the dynojet kit and put in a 55 pilot jet. Had the same thing happen. Was playing around with the idle fuel adjustment to try and fix, but i believe the main problem was that I had not fully inserted the carb back into the rubber connection on the engine side and was sucking air. A day after putting the bike together, it put me on the side of the road after rolling off the throttle coming to a stop sign. The carb had completely popped out of the connection. Just took a few minutes to diagnose the problem, get out the handy Honda tool kit, and properly seat the carb in the connection. No problems with the momentary high idle after rolling off the throttle since.
