    2017 FE501 arrived in the U.S.

I have the supermoto. I was lucky enough to get the only one at the dealer earlier this year! )

I wonder if the 501 sumo will give my 701 a run for its money considering its 100 pounds lighter! Haha. Although I don't think you'd be able to street legalize a 501 in Canada anyways.

2002 crf450r..Am I wasting my money rebuilding it?

I figure it would cost a couple grand to get it back to OEM. That ontop of the couple grand I've just spent I feel like I wouldn't do more than just plastics and graphics for now unless someone was going to really make it worth my while.. lol. Like someone said before that's a very niche market. I could see Honda wanting it in a show room but who knows I guess.

Most likely , the VIN number has start somewhere and the US VIN would be different!

2002 crf450r..Am I wasting my money rebuilding it?

So Honda got back to me via email and said contact a Honda dealer. I called my local dealer and they said yes it is the first 2002 crf450r off the assembly line in Canada. Pretty cool! So 2002 crf450r for sale: $50000. OBO. Lol.

2002 crf450r..Am I wasting my money rebuilding it?

Totally! That would be pretty cool haha. I'll most likely do the OG plastics and graphics anyways. When I bought the bike it had a super ugly hot wheels graphics kit. Lol

2002 crf450r..Am I wasting my money rebuilding it?

Yea that would be really fun turning it completely original again. I literally just bought a 2008 cylinder head with SS valves for it and a whole bunch of other mods. Lol. I haven't installed the cylinder head yet because I'm not in the country. I actually ended up buying the TE300 and I've decided to hang on to the crf for now. I've just been busy at work this last bit but I plan on calling Honda about it!

I sent an email to Honda waiting to hear back!

I've added a pic of the data tag for the bike. Maybe you guys are more educated on that than I am!

2002 crf450r..Am I wasting my money rebuilding it?

I feel like it could be if I hadn't just done a bunch of mods to it and turned it completely original instead. I'm not sure if there's really any crf collectors out there?

I know for sure if I bought a new bike I probably wouldn't miss the Honda. It just seems like a waste of it'll only go for a couple grand( maybe some nostalgia because I've had it since I was 18). I agree that the 450 on the trails is a bit sqirrely, always on the brakes.. lol I just bought a husky 701 so I feel like I should wait a bit until I drop more cash, should be saving for a house. Lol. I've heard your not a true enthusiast until you own three bikes...

2002 crf450r..Am I wasting my money rebuilding it?

As far as I know unless I'm reading it wrong. I'm not in the country right now but I'll try and get a picture of it and see what you guys think. But yes I agree that it would be strange that Honda would sell the first bike off the assembly line. Maybe it isn't!
  14. I've owned my 2002 crf450r It's about 10 years now and I've probably just spent around $2000 rebuilding various components and upgrading others, (2008 cylinder head with SS valves, magura hydraulic clutch, hinson clutch, cycra handguards, quick shot 3, dyna jet kit, stainless brake lines. etc) At the end of the day it's still an 02 450 and worth about 2500$. I really enjoy rebuilding it and it's never ran this good before and that gives me a lot of satisfaction. I could easily spend another1-2 grand on a new pipe and top and bottom end. I don't really go to the track anymore because it scares me now but I love the power of the 450. It's also serial number 000001 which I think is really cool. I feel like I getting rid of it trade it for a 2016 husky TE 300 because realistically it's an old bike and I mostly just ride trails and pits now. Although after all the years I've had it and everything I've done to it I think I may regret getting rid of it. Am I wasting my money? Any thoughts?!
